Also the mach e GT has an unbridled extended mode which if run well before the track cools the battery and the motors to provide extended performance

@@marcuscoquer5958 this isn't a faulty thing. Ford actively limits the mach e. Even just driving on the freeway. Power starts to cut off above 68mph and your passing speed in the 75mph range the car just plummets in performance. There's a power meter on the car next to the SOC that displays how much power is no longer available. It's dependent on speed, battery temperature, and how aggressive you're driving.

There's another guy who put out a video. He ran it 12 times down the dragstrip and the only 2 times it didn't run in the 12s was when he experimented with unbridled extend. He lost 18% battery charge throughout the runs which is why performance fell off a bit. Which was about a 1/2 second. That's pretty close to the performance drop I've seen in the Tesla Plaid. The plaid is a whole different animal but it's power loss from multiple runs is comparable.
@darreno14503 жыл бұрын
@@RDKZbin54 At 70% SOC the Mach-E GTPE dropped .5 second in the quarter on those runs you're referring to. This is NOT comparable to the Plaid. It's actually much worse than any Tesla. My Model 3 loses no where near that at 70%. I start seeing measurable speed loss around 60% or less, and it isn't that much as it pulls really well. I've seen the Plaid still run low 9s with 70% SOC or less. So no, the Mach-E is very poor in this regard.

Sometimes I wonder if you guys even know what bracket racing is. If you enter a bracket race in an electric car against say an old Ford Pinto that maybe runs in the 20's at 70-mph, that Ford Pinto still has a chance to win as long as he doesn't break out of his dialed in time. You may be sitting on the line for an eternity though, but it takes 2 completely mis-matched cars and allows them to still be competitive against each other. Unless your racing heads up, then in theory it shouldn't even matter if one car is electric and the other is gasoline/methanol/whatever.

11:00 I doubt that it's heat soaking. More than likely, it's a software restriction based on the maximum (pulse) discharge rating of the battery. It's not a huge deal but over time, it can be a noticeable change.
@romeo15503 жыл бұрын
@Aryan A sure. 1000 runs sounds like a lot but that is equivalent to driving your car daily for 3 years. Also, it depends on how hard you drive and how much you start and stop, weather conditions and driving conditions, charge cycles and so much more. The management system manages the power output well and delivers effectively. Like I said, it's overtime and happens gradually but eventually the cells will degrade, the charge begins to fade quicker and eventually they give out and not produce the same output or performance. It's not a huge problem, like I mentioned before but over time, it does begin to affect performance...eventually.

Weird to see that car being called a "MUSTANG" They should leave that name out. Pretty sad

So what we are learning is the Mach E GT is only fast up to about 70 and only for a few minutes. Totally half baked car. Race it against the model Y performance- 10 runs back to back down the drag strip doing 1/4 mile. See who makes the best performance crossover

The numbers are out. The LR Model Y (non performance) has a faster 1/4 mile time that the Mach E GT.

A few days ago a Tesla model S l believe passed me and it sounded like a V8 ? Do they have fake exhaust noises on these EVS? It wasn’t my Imagination!

I know who will lose before watching the video... the VW id.4! The id.4 is a SUV EV, not a dragster.

Porsche should have came up with a different name than turbo s since there is no turbo in the vehicle
