About a week ago, I responded to a call for volunteers to help finish up the new "All Abilities playground". It turns out that the work was raking and shoveling gravel! I found that shoveling at 72 is different to when you are 40! So, Gadzee, you want to come to the US next summer (winter for you) and help me shovel?

Would it work to take a large sluice mat, carpet like on you homemade sluice, and put it into the flow line. Then pin it so it won’t move and come back after the floods to see what it caught?

Dude. I traded in my other sluice and got that bad boy. The other was getting so clogged with black sand, i knew i was blowing out gold. I used the fly weight dream sluice and just love it!

The sluice did well on the gold, but l would love to see what you would get with one setup a little better for gem catching. I rarely bother chasing gems, but this spot might make it worthwhile.

Its a good question. First, all sluice boxs lose gold. regardless of length. I could easily take a longer box, but then, more weight, harder to carry far, more clean out etc. So there has to be a balance. think of gold like goldielocks. Searching for the "just right place" to hide. Not all gold will settel in the same capture system. So there are differnt designs for differnt applications.

911 Mining either reviewed and/or helped prototype the speedpan a few years ago. Equally unclear to my immediate recollection is what his conclusion was. I think he concluded that if he perfected a technique with it that it might be faster but the volume limitations restricted it (as you reasoned, and narrated)

Love your videos Chris. So glad I found your channel. An opinion on production ... Content which is interesting and intelligent (like yours) usually doesn't need background music, and yours really doesn't. For longer sequences without dialog, music can add interest. Otherwise it's distracting.
