Hey Robert, I would try belt dressing to spray on your belt to keep it from squealing. Sometimes the dirt, dust or dryness makes the belt do that. Hope this helps bro! Love the channel by the way!

Mine doesnt have an idler pully. it goes from ac compressor around crank to alternator. Belt is tightened by loosening alternator and pushing with a pry bar and tightening down

Pulleys were the belts ride wear out and the belt will not have full contact and you might have to replace the pulleys on you APU to stop the slipping ie the the squealing noise just saying

Not sure on the style or model of your APU. The two suspects are the AC compressor or the generator/ alternator. The waterpump is barely a non parasitc drag

Sadly neighbor farmer went to local, independent tire guy. Who had decent prices, cheap labor if you give them time. Well this guy needed new tires for dually. Tires were not bad, but he wants new. MUST be TODAY. So he drives 100 mile round trip for 6 new +$200 tires. Mounts all 6. “Forgot check book.” After weeks he gets official notice Bankruptcy, quit harassing him. POS knew he was going to do it. So he spent money he never had to repay.

Robert check pulley alignment, put some engine oil on belt ( not the answer ) but temporary stop squealing, it can be so annoying when people stare at you in city. Had found that belt trying to climb out from slight miss alinement and go down under load, heats up and squeal.

If your belt is squealing only when it first starts, that usually means it is not tensioned properly or the tensioner is going bad.

The noise is not the belt it’s the alternator going bad had that happened to me and ended up finding out after month of hearing it squill that is was the alternator because it finely lock up.

The a/c compressor kicks on puts tension on the alternator bearing and makes it squil so you will notice when the compressor stop it stops.

It's squealing like that because something not turning As fast as the rest of the parts rotateing , Other words to my knowledge. Something's trying to lock up and that's why the belt squeaks. it squeaking on the one that's not turning correctly all the time
