Discovered this aircraft after getting MSFS 2020. It's been my favorite aircraft to fly around in. I'm in the process of doing an "around the world" flight with it by flying along the coast of the world.

This was kind-of an ‘ouch’ comment obviously implying that this video was NOT clean, clear and informative. Although i did enjoy this video I agree and good way to phrase it.

What’s the difference between true airspeed and indicated air speed and which one is your actual speed across the ground?
@triskellian4 жыл бұрын
Hi Blair.True airspeed is speed of the aircraft moving through the air(corrected for non standard atmospheric conditions,position errors and air density) , and indicated airspeed is what is read directly from the airspeed indicator.Your ground speed is calculated between the wind direction and velocity and true airspeed.A head wind is subtracted from true airspeed and a tailwind is added to true airspeed,for example.The modern glass instrument panel shown in the video can display ground speed on one of the screens.It's using information from the GPS receiver and the pitot tube on the wing.The computer calculates it automatically.On a calm day,ground speed and true airspeed are the same.For a more detailed explanation on the subject here's a helpful link www.experimentalaircraft.info/flight-planning/aircraft-navigation-speed.php. I hope this helps!

Wow she's gorgeous........er um the plane....that's what I'm talking about! Question at what altitude would you guys have to put oxygen on?
@LifeStyleAviation5 жыл бұрын
Haha thank you! For this flight we cruised at 12,000 feet and our pilot did use supplemental oxygen for about 30 minutes. FAA rules state though that oxygen is required for pilots after more than 30 minutes at 12,500 ft or any time at 14,000 ft or above. It is required for passengers at 15,000 feet and above. - Sharon

one question are you limited to airports that have diesel.
@LifeStyleAviation5 жыл бұрын
Hey Randy, great question! Jet-A (diesel) is actually more common to find at an airport than 100LL, especially outside the US. We have not run into any issues finding a suitable airport that supplies Jet-A.
@randykoonce9905 жыл бұрын

There are many small airports in the US that have avgas but not Jet-A; however, the success of aerodiesels plus the increasing popularity of single turboprops and light jets will likely cause more airports to make Jet-A available in the future.

What kind of high performance twin could you get for the same money spent on the 62?
@markg44594 жыл бұрын
400 series Cessnas are pressurized, cabin class and turbocharged. Not made anymore so you're looking at older airframes, engines, avionics & technology. Not a good comparison. Better comparison is the new Baron G58. Goes for similar price ($1.35 million) unpressurized and normally aspirated. Similar avionics with Garmin, seats six. Believe Diamond 62 is actually outselling the Baron. Wish I had better info on maintenance of the Diamond as that's a huge component of twin ownership.
