There's a reason hangars at HAF are available while every other GA airport has a 10 year wait list! Suggest you park at PAO or SQL then drive. Marine layer covers them but burns off by early or mid morning.

Yeah, coming in from LA we wanted the full fly-in camping experience. Wouldn’t have had the same level of immersion if we had to drive from SQL 🤣 At the end of the day it was all a part of the experience.

I was just there this week! That marine layer will creep in. Went to lunch and came back to low overcast just outside the airport, and right after we left, the field was covered. Felt like the last helicopter out of vietnam

We learned the hard way. Coming in on Friday when it was clear and 10 gave us a false sense of confidence that the weather would stay like that. Definitely some great motivation to get the instrument rating.

what cameras did you use on the outside of the airplane? also it seems the shoots you have ub formation, the proper is since and blurred so I guessing a slow shutter speed, what camera/ ND filter did you use for those shots?

The camera mounted outside the airplane is a Go Pro Max. For the handheld shots I’m using a Sony FX30 with variable ND filter. For the interior GoPros I did use ND filters but honestly they made the image quality worse (color shift/high ISO) so I don’t recommend them. I’ve actually found using the de-flicker tool in DaVinci Resolve does a great job at removing the prop instead of using the NDs.
