I eat pretty healthy for the most part but i also treat myself often. As long as i balance i feel okay. When she started talking about eating disorder and pregnancy it hit me hard. With my first i would binge eat i also had depression and body dysmorphia and felt SO GUILTY about it because i was growing my beautiful baby i shouldnt have felt that way. It was hard to overcome and i always will have it in the back of my mind but my kids motivate me everyday.

Jazz!!! When I was hearing about you speak about disordered eating I really felt kindred. My kiddo is 19 months now and it has been quite a journey to get to the healthy place I am at now. I didn’t have a doctor during pregnancy that paid attention to my history with mental health, disordered eating, or dysphoria. I gained 60 pounds during pregnancy and was shamed at multiple visits. I looked and felt healthy and bloodwork was perfect. I wish I would have reached out more to people about how i was feeling. It’s so common to feel this way!

I am pregnant, and these videos always go extreme. The diet to follow is not that complicated. You can enjoy sweets like that donut, you just need to also eat healthy. You just avoid things that can cause salmonella like raw or uncured foods, and you can have up to 350mg of coffee! That’s almost three regular cups of coffee!

@@WebbyLinster But Lindsay, even pregnant women won't have a list as extreme as this. So, it doesn't make sense if you are trying to follow what actual pregnant women eat. Yes there are things that make sense on that list but you should see what an obstetrician would recommend since that IS their specialty. I'm sure their list would be different.

I love that they brought up eating habits and eating disorders I got pregnant 2 years ago and have a healthy beautiful 2-year-old now but you don't really hear about eating disorders while pregnant so I got judged a lot while I was pregnant because I don't eat very much during the day I eat maybe one meal if I'm lucky if I can convince myself that one meal will be fine and during pregnancy I had to train myself to eat three meals a day which was difficult and you don't hear a lot about the struggles with eating because women are so ashamed to have any problems in their pregnancy that they hide it and it doesn't get talked about so I love that this video touched on eating disorders while pregnant because I felt so alone during my pregnancy because of my eating disorder

Also having an ex ED for 5 years and then getting pregnant was so difficult. I wanted to be nurturing to my baby but also wanted to restrict. All I can say is I lucky got past it and decided it's his life that is more important than me. And postpartum is the worst thinking you'll never be that skinny again and you won't. My hips are 3 sizes bigger after giving birth and no matter how much weight I loose they will never be that small again. It's just something you're willing to risk for your baby. And it's ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT.

On occasion did did I inhale a box of cookies? Yes. And that’s why my kids are so sweet 😁. But no seriously, be realistic try to move every day, go to your appointments and for the most part you should be alright (not talking about high risk pregnancies or special circumstances)

This is soooo unrealistic lol. My doctor only told me to avoid *maybe* half of those foods. If you followed everything this extreme you would just stress out yourself and the baby.
@sarahprince24123 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Personally they should have consulted with an ACTUAL obstetrician to see what they would say when it comes to diets. I guarantee they would give you a list that would not be as extreme as this list which would then not stress out the mother and baby as you said. Midwives have knowledge but they are nowhere near as trained as an actual obstetrician(whose specialty is pregnancy) which IS an actual doctor. A midwife is NOT a doctor people. You need to remember that. Everyone has their own personal choice but don't assume a midwife can give you the same advice as a doctor. So I think it would be smart if they redid this video correctly and got advice from a doctor as well as a midwife to get well rounded advice. I have nothing against midwives but let's get some actual doctors in here as well who specializes in pregnancy.

@@sarahprince2412 a CNM is a Certified Nurse Midwife and is a graduate level medical professional who specializes in prenatal and past natal care. They are a nurse and have a masters and even a doctorate in nursing. They are qualified to be there for low-medium risk pregnancies the only thing they don't do is C-sections and usually don't accept multiplies (twins, triplets, ect). So they are more than qualified to answer these questions on diet/ health. They already stated in the video they were taking it to the extreme.
