great job and thanks for all your efforts to produce this video, I know you guys do this but for the new Prospectors out there when you're finished up vacuuming tap the hose all around (while it's still running) because the vacuum hose acts like a sluice and a lot of fines get stuck along the hose, sure is fun being out there, late last year I spent a few days at the cargo Muchachos and I didn't find a whole lot like usual (2.5 to 3 grams) but it was fun, what I really enjoyed is on my way home I'll stop at the Yuma Golden Corral and eat about 10 steaks

Good to see the old drywasher again. I helped with some of the design to the dry washer. With Keene engineering. With Mark and Pat.
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK2 жыл бұрын
The new "S" series drywashers are overcompliated with unnessesary gimmics in my opinion and ruined the original best working design. The older basic 140 and 151 are the best drywashers when set up properly.

That's awesome! Never thought of the fact having the hopper steep it also causes the material to feed to quickly 🙄 thanks guys!

Yeah, it will just jam up and usually clog immediately unless the feed gate is wide open, but then it would be feeding to fast. Get yourself some paint buckets, its to much energy to shovel directly into the screen.

With the new "S" series they installed rubber bumpers to hold the tray a little , which I believe was to settle down the shaking a little. Keene just keeps over complicating the great running machines they had years ago.

Trap is a Victor #2 double spring. Possible set by a government trapper or a rancher who was having trouble with coyotes. If you have a good set that works, maybe where you've made multiple catches, you might use a drag (the double hook arrangement on the chain) to let the coyote get caught and then get away from your trap set so he doesn't mess it up so much and it's not too hard to remake. Eventually the hooks get caught on the underbrush and you can track the drag through the desert and find and dispatch the coyote. If you stake the trap instead of using a drag, it fixes the trap and gives the coyote something it can pull against and he may be able to pull his foot out. I would consider a #2 a little small for a coyote, but it would work. 2½ or #3 is more appropriately sized. As an aside, I'm still running and SD2200.

Great Video again guys your killing it...just some awesome gold. There is a company called Rock Vac, Ive always wanted to place the vacuum hopper on top of the drywasher to dump the vacuumed up material from creek beds, and bedrock. Never seen it done, wonder if it would be faster than the ol fashion bucket brigade? At work we have huge industrial Vac trucks that we use, man these things will dig a 4 foot deep trench hole in minutes, I could imagine the damage they would do cleaning up creekbeds and bedrock.

I’ve watched a lot of dry washing videos but what I appreciate about this one is you guys taking the time to show how you set your Drywasher up. I’m going to take what I learned here and apply when I go out and set up. I do have a question for you though. I have the 140s with that gate in the back to release air flow. Should I use that to mitigate the shaking of the rifle tray or do you think I should keep it closed and use a weight Stabilize it?
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK4 жыл бұрын
The shake is created by the counter weight/ fan combo in the lower box. Im not sure that opening that port would mitigate the shaking. It would however, regulate the air volume going through the tray fabric. The weights work really well to stabilize "over shaking"
@renepaz42084 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to try it without and with the weights and see how it works out. Again Thanks for this info and Can’t wait for the next video. Maybe one day you guys can do a clean up video on how you completely separate out all the black sand.

Hey, awesome video guys it’s nice to see how you can do some dry washing and desert situations and be successful at it. I did a lot of hiking and pretend prospecting up here in Arizona with just a little bit of luck now makes me want to go buy a dry washer, cause I seen some dandy spots, thank you so much God bless

I loved the music you paired with the drone shots. . enchanting. I can see where using a drone would save you a lot of walking when scouting over an area. do you use a vac or a shovel to fill the buckets? damn good vid guys.
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK4 жыл бұрын
Shovels mostly , then vacuum the bedrock and fill the buckets with that material too.....Thanks for watching !!

I guess I was wondering if a dredg-vac would fill the buckets faster. Have fun. . . you are living my dream.

Another great video guys! BTW is that a mesh screen on the riffle tray or cloth? Just curious thanks
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK2 жыл бұрын
Cloth , we’ve tried mesh and the idea sounded great but were met with odd air pressure rates which made the material not flow correctly

Hi from reno.. just learning how to use my detector and would LOVE to have a spot like that where I could get useto what GOLD sounds like and how deep vs top signals ect .. I get discouraged when I only find trash or coins... cus theres ppl everywhere now lol question is that just on a dirt road ? Like ur digging it up it's not in a wash that's so wonderful hahaha
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK4 жыл бұрын
This spot is in a large wash. I was there over the weekend and did not do so well this time. Buy yourself a small test nugget somewhere and practice with it. There are also clubs you can join that have mining claims you can go on. Reno has gold all over the area. Thank you very much for tuning in.

I live in Phoenix. Any way I can meet you on one of your outings? I'm a beginner. But would live to learn!

Join the “ big bug mining district” prospecting club. It will give you a place to prospect for gold and people to learn from. We don’t have the time to take individuals out in the field, sorry
