There’s supposed to be a cave somewhere in Due West, SC that hasn’t been explored. An old history book said the natives called it a bottomless ravine. I talked to a geology professor at Erskine College there in Due West. He said he knew of it. He also said the man who owns that land it’s on sent someone to explore it, and the person sent to explore it asked to be pulled up after a while and he said there was no bottom. I’m not sure where exactly this cave is, but I’ve always wanted to know more about it. Seems like a cool adventure. I don’t know if y’all will see this but it would be amazing if someone like y’all could explore and document the cave.

@@Leo-qz4xk No, this cave is in South Carolina. You won’t find anything online about it. Probably only a handful of people know about it. There’s a possibility that someone could find information about it in an old history book about Due West.

In Australia at least, a lot of deep caves >50m, there tends to be a buildup of CO2. I was caught out in that once and I've always been very conscious of that. By the way you were breathing, it doesn't seem evident in that massive cave though. Crawling along high , exposed, narrow shelves is a very dangerous act, especially without any protection. Take care...

Not a good idea. Never a good idea, except in some of the most known caves and even there it's a risk. Two fold: a. flood risk (and there's no escape from that, it's insta death, many have gone that way) b. cave in. B especially, in an unknown cave? Uh uh, that's a rookie mistake. You have to asses the entrance, walls, see if there's any history with the area etc. Caving can seem easy, but it's not.

Kinda reminds of an almost really unfortunate sh!tuation with a friend of mine from high school. His family and him were trekking through a forest and out of nowhere they heard a scream, which turned out to be the oldest son, his brother, falling through one of these that hadn't been visible under the foliage and roots that were covering an opening. He got his leg in a cast, but other than that, it was a lucky escape, could've been worse. In some regions, these things pop out of nowhere, you never know when you're right on top of one that just hasn't opened up to the surface.

You guys should have rope sleeves. You buy like 20 of them and sling them on a one or two meter long length of rope and if you do a cowboy knot on it and pull, they shrink and make easy to transport. You just pop them open when you need them and sleeve the rope. Seriously worth having them.

Extremely difficult to find and while we were in a large group. The deeper you go into the earth. You must spend effort to ascend back to the opening. Like swimming, give you self room to get back out. Adrenaline and energy will spend quickly. That’s when we get into trouble, being courageous. Isn’t always a stoke to the ego. This is the 1st time I've ever watched a cave exploring video and I must say..... It kept my attention and gave me a feeling I can't quite explain🤔🤔🤔 like excitement and anxiety...amazed and scared all at the same damn time..

Wow, I've never seen a cave like that one. On hindsight I think I would have thrown down two ropes the way that one was rubbing. Great video.

Such videos are awesome. I used to be adventurous and risky too, but not so much like you through that narrow sleeve. Perhaps with a makita driller in case.
