Hi! My trick is getting different colored masking tape and putting a strip on the sides of the box - a different color for each room/area. Then it's just "everything blue is the kitchen" "red is the master bedroom" etc..... good luck!

Congratulations! One tip I would have about packing, is to pack all the things you wouldn’t consider needs, pictures, vases, candles, etc first. Also pack a box for each child for the first couple days in Florida. People in the military have great tips about moving so if you google that, you may find some ingenious ideas! Love from Alaska.

I agree - did many a move with the Marines. I also would research the area and find a few fun things that the kiddos would love and hype that too. When we moved to Charleston, my girls were so excited that they had a Chuckie Cheese (1985) and that's all it took.

Set up your beds first then put kitchen in order then you can take time with the rest. Pack one box with paper towels, toilet paper ,plates, disposable eating utensils, cups, soap etc and label. Will save time when you first arrive Also put all you important papers in one bag and take in car with you. Get all medical/ school record etc together before you go. Good luck from a 16 time mover.

The place is beautiful. There is a precious couple that have a homestead in Florida. Hollis and Nancy Homestead. They love the Lord but also he teaches how to grow from seed to harvest. Yesterday i watched them harvest 900 onioms that were huge! Their property looks a lot like your new place. Blessings to y'all. I love all of y'all!

Volusia county, Deland, DeLeon Springs, Pierson, Lake Helen are great farm areas!!!! We were surprised how country it was. Praying for y’all to get settled and enjoy Florida. We moved there in January, left snow and ice in TENNESSEE to arrive to sunshine and warmth

I was born and raised in DeLand, Florida. Now me and my husband live in Deltona, Florida with our 6 children. Not too far away. But downtown DeLand is a must see. There are very beautiful parts of DeLand. Freedom Park your kids would love! DeLand library is very huge and nice (my dad helped build the library). So much to do there. You'll definitely enjoy it! your house looked so well organized in your house tour I expect packing should be a breeze! as someone who has moved a lot over the years id suggest packing everything you DONT need like decor, winter things, etc and sending that down with chad when he goes to paint. pack a bag of necessities for each child for when you guys go down and pack all else separately .

Best wishes on your move! Just a tip: pack the beds last so they are unloaded first. Moving is exhausting and when you get there, you might just want to get some sleep and recharge before unloading, organizing, etc. Also order in pizza or burgers so you don't have to fuss with cooking or rummage through the boxes to find plates, pots pans etc, especially if y'all are exhausted. It makes a fun memory for the kids too their first night in a new place.

Praise God!!! How wonderful to be blessed with His best for you all now! We know exactly how you feel about God's provision, as we bought our current home on an auction site, sight unseen! But God knew . . . three years into cleaning and renovating has let us make the house into a lovely home, ideal for the two of us and close to two of our children's families💖. After a year and a half here, our youngest's (son) family relocated to Florida! It is a beautiful state with such a variety of cities, towns and rural areas to enjoy! At any rate, keep on trusting, walking by faith, as our Lord holds you in His hands desiring to Bless you over and over again! Our kids and us live on the lakes....alligators are more afraid of people.....unless you feed them. My 2 sons were alligator trappers.....very hard to catch....so no worries. Your property looks like real Florida! Congratulations. - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

I forgot to mention we have moved many times due to my husband's work and there are two boxes that must come off first, one is the bedding and as soon as the beds are up get the beds made the childrens and yours. You will be pleased you did and the other box have some mugs, kettle (jug) coffee/tea, juice or water for the kids and snacks and what they like for breakfast, bowls and spoons if it's cereal. Last gas station before you arrive pick up some milk then if nothing else when you are tired at the end of the first day you can flop into bed and if needs must they can have cereal for dinner as a treat. This is only a suggestion but I have been pleased I had my two boxes well labeled and first off the truck.

Looking like yall are gonna be living rural..we do have bears, snakes, coyotes, alligators but lots of sunshine..Bears don't usually bother you if you don't bother them..our local bears had a feast after Thanksgiving when all the garbage got put out..depending on the county you live in they do provide bear proof garbage cans!!
