It might look like an Xserve but it 100% isn’t. They never shipped with an optical drive, and if they had, it would not have been black plastic. It would have been enclosed like the Powermac G5 / OG Mac Pro. They also all had front mount hotswappable HDDs. It’s likely a wintel server with a similar looking case.

Call  about those Care serial numbers. Even if they’re old, they last through several generations of hardware if not activated. My dad bought an old Care box for a PowerBook with shrink wrap on it from DI, and it worked on my 2011 MacBook Pro! Saved me $350!

I know, If I found them, I would use the passwords to get in, wipe the drive or just upgrade it with a faster SSD and more RAM plus upgrade the operating system and then sell them. Could get quite a bit of money for them. :)

I like how he just throws the sensitive electronic equipment in the back of the pickup. "Oh I don't know what it is or what it does I will just throw it in the back". It makes me laugh when he throws a safe on the ground absolutely clueless of what could be inside. One of these times he'll destroy a safe while attempting to open it and destroy something very valuable before he even gets to see it pawning it off for only a couple bucks.

I’m glad you found someone to resell for you, otherwise you would be a complete disgrace to the storage unit buyer/seller community. I love all your vids, but you make storage hunters look really bad. Wasting a ton of money for a potential fee good hits. A safe like that should be a secondary reason for buying a unit. I can bet money that you will probably barely lose money on this as long as your seller is good.
