That was a chilling story of greed, and untempered emotions causing so much destruction through decades leading to this moment in time. I think the concept of the well could be explored more. Were the actions of the family their own or were they influenced by the denizen of the well. Personally i like funny horror first, chilling or sad next.

@DanielKay06Күн бұрын
Yea just end with "I wish we never had and never will find the well", it should reset the timeline and prevent them from ever finding it. The well also didn't seem to "twist" wishes so it would do what it was asked for.

Wows. This story really leans into the Jinn mythology that they are tristers who grant wishes with strings attached which is wny in Aladin he is told to word his wishes wisely . The Well itself is a Jinn or Genie. The phrase becareful what you wish for really hits home. Both your naration and the writing really helped bring the story to life, parts of it made my skin crawl and i felt really bad for Ben. Im now wondering why they built the house was built there in the first place as Im assuming the Well predates the house. I also love when a story makes me think and want explore more into the story. Im now full of questions.

Is anybody gonna talk about how the dad is literally abusive? Screaming, yelling, shaking, threatening with a belt, almost pushing one of his kids down the stairs. Could he not just EXPLAIN to them what was going on? And when his kid says he wished for a new dad, instead of feeling guilty, or anything, he SHAKES the kid like a ragdoll. Gee, no wonder the kids don't like him.

The husband is right.... the grandma is an alcoholic, druggie narsasist, the mom is 3erd partying the husband and talking behind his back to her horrid mother, the kids don't listen and only like metrialistic, short lasting things.... the dad is just trying to protect everyone. This is so sad and very realistic on how humans act when we get some sort of instent power. Like winning the lottery, over 80% of those people just waste all of the money on stupid stuff. Ugh. Great story, realistic but I hate everyone here but the dad.
