First half of the 50's, not later than 1954. Mostly original but what's been added is on top of the original such as the newer kitchen counter tops on old cabinets and the bathroom "updates". I wonder if it ever had any trees in the yard, I never liked a yard totally bare of trees. Thanks for the tour you two! 👍🤠 Notes: 0:24 Odd, it appears to be a door under the eaves, opening to the garage roof. 🤔 6:38 The occupants knew it was small so they covered it with an oversized curtain. 10:02 The builder did skimp by not using ceramic floor tile. 11:27 That vanity WILL fit, wether it wants to or not! 12:36 Aw come on! It's a passthrough to the bathroom cabinet you were just at Greg! 17:24 Copper drainpipe is rare, a scrapper's dream. Notice the height of the pipe where it goes through the wall in the corner, this is why the toilet is on a "perch". Also notice the blue plasic dishpan to catch the sewer drippins. 23:57 It's good to be king or chirp like a songbird or both.

Hey John, I think that date range is exactly what I think it is. And for the most part, yeah it was untouched, except for the countertops and whatnot, which I think were done probably in the 90s.. I believe the backyard had many more trees, I should do some research to see! Thanks for the comment as always, it's pinned for everybody to enjoy.

For some crazy reason, i have noticed in zillow house ads that the style is ZERO closet doors. Just none. So it may have been that it was sold last without the doors. Its expensive to put in new closet doors thruout the house.

Very nice. I think the basement toilet is on a platform to more easily route the toilet drain to the sewer/septic line without having to dig up the concrete floor. (Bathrooms was added latter). Sewer/septic line may be raised higher than the floor. I grew up with wood paneling, shag carpeting and wallpaper. My parent's bathroom had that same Colonial style wallpaper with carriages, cottages, antique appliances theme.Vacuum cleaners used to have a rake attachment to comb up the shag napping.☺ Yes, this home has that 1950s long rectangular, horizontal spanning planar structure style. When there is so such surrounding land to sell, why do they have to tear down this house? I would just love to buy it for the sheer great quality it is; not like today's cheap construction. I mean solid real wood, hardwood floors throughout, stonework. You pay a fortune for this kind of stuff today. Yeah, the asbestos should be removed. Thanks!

I hope someone saves the beautiful pieces from this home, which will probably happen. ~fingers crossed~ My childhood family home had interesting features. Built in the fifties (or earlier?), the place had two small disguised cellar rooms. One served as a coal chute while the other remains a mystery. We four kids were allowed to paint the latter space. :) Be well and stay safe!

That fan in the stair well is to pull up cool air from the basement. I used to do that with a regular fan when I had a basement, Works just like air-conditioning. When a house has a basement, you can use one of those air mover fans aimed out an up stairs window with all the rest closed, and it also cools the whole house down when it is hot.

Nice house. As you probably already know, the room in the basement with the pine walls and the fireplace was my favorite. I also like the front door, you don’t see many like that anymore. The corner sink in the kitchen, was kind of awkward, but I like it. That was definitely hack Work in the basement the way they did the bathroom. Awesome explore!

Think the areas with cinder-block are an addition. The high toilet is a workaround they used to do for the sewer pipe for addon added after the slab was set so it is probably a later addition. most of the details looks like 50s-60's with some updates in the 80's. nice little house.

I’m not sure about the floor tiles having asbestos in them. They look like linoleum - real linoleum, before vinyl flooring came along - which is extremely durable and practical. It’s having a bit of a revival, especially for “retro renovations”.
