One of my favourite bikes. Sad story but there is actually a stolen one in the city I live in in South East Asia. Unfortunately there is something wrong with it and the village mechanic isn't able to fix it so it is just being left outside his shop under a raincoat to rot.

Rune is super rare. Legend has it, this was the Honda engineers swan song, and the bike wasn’t very profitable because of the cost of making them. They do a way better job of explaining it on srk cycles/bikes and beards channel than I am now, but they’re super sought after and super expensive. Only made these bikes for half a year or something?... and the word you were looking for on that road glide was saddlebags, Yammie.

The Rune is one of the most unique bikes made by Honda. I have seen like probably one in my entire life. The bike really is something. From what I have heard they are super rare and Honda made only a few numbers (mostly in the triple digit range - I am not sure, though). I would seriously love to see Yammie Noob's views on it, though.

the valkyrie was a badass bike back in the day. i remember seeing one in the showroom when i was getting parts for my honda magna 750 back in the day. around 14 years ago when i had the magna. the bike looked like something from the jetsons

The Honda Valkyrie Rune was a limited run mix of the F6C Cruiser and GL1800 Goldwing, basically a futuristic cruiser. Yes, it uses the Goldwing flat 6 boxer engine and basically sounds the same (with the stock pipes on it). As far as i know they are USA market only, i used to work at a Honda dealer here in the Netherlands and it was a pretty big deal when we actually got one in the shop. Also, as for the Turbo Road Glide, the cylinder you were looking at is the stock air filter location, just boxed in with the big intake to have a straighter flow into the turbo itself. Dude said it was super fast and straight to drive, but how the hell does that work with lowered (air) suspension and a ridiculous 30" front wheel? That means the front end must have been extended at the frame head and inverted raked at the triple trees to even fit. It does have a nice Roland Sands clear derby cover with a TPP Variable Pressure Clutch (the 'batteries' you mentioned) so i'll give it props for that. Although they used a standard H-D 103 C.I. Twin Cam engine, not the best to just slap a turbo on if you ask me. (but i'm a Sportster / Buell pleb, so what do i know?)

49cc is about as fast as a pedal bicycle so it does not require a license, registration and insurance. They are sometimes called drunk rider bikes because people buy them after they lose their license for drunk driving, to get to work and around town. I borrowed one years ago and it was fun to ride at 15 mph, especially since it was so flickable for tight corners, from the light weight.

Since you're moving Austin, there is a bike dealership there that has both the Zero and the Energica brands. Since you enjoy torque so much, between their two top bikes you can try almost 300 pound-feet! It should make for good story.

Honda valkyrie is a nakedness gold wing cruiser, but the rune is like a limited edition super cool version. Engineers were told make the mist beautiful motorcycle ever no matter the cost.... then they made it. It was made in the honda marysville auto plant I actually work in now. They made the valkyriw and rune alongside the old accords. Super beautiful bikes with a cool history.

my 50cc Yamaha TZR does 90 km/h on a flat road. The only thing I've done with it is derestricted the CDI and exhaust and changed the sprockets for max top speed. The engine is completely original.

The Valkerie Rune was a limited production Art Deco bike from Honda. Heavy, Ugly, but hey if its your thing. And the part on the Harley Bagger you thought was a speaker, it actually the clutch, the "batteries" are weights that add clamping force with centripidal force.

The first time i seen a Rune in person was at a car and bike show. Had no idea what it was and until that day i had never heard of one. The one i seen was like a Viper blue. Super sharp bike and it had a unique sound too.

Varies by state but In Colorado, sub 50cc requires everything but the motorcycle endorsement.. still need a license, insurance and to register the thing.. although that only costs $6 and is good for three years. It's also in the law that they need to have an automatic transmission...

Most states do not require a license for less than 50cc engine bikes. Texas is not one of them though. For less than 50cc Texas requires a moped license and you need to take the MSF class and a written test but no road test. The only other bonus is you can get licensed at 15 but that is the same for motorcycles.

The rune is the most prized of goldwings because of its concept design. That is why they are heavy and high priced. Honda revived the valkyrie 11 years later in 2014. Those are lighter than the rune and have a much more sporty look to them. I know because I own one now.

In Montana a 49cc bike requires a motorcycle endorsement unless it has a peddle crank like a moped. Scooters require the endorsement though.
