Good grabbing those carbs. Local carb rebuilder told me not to throw away any of them unless they are internally corroded so I toss them to him.

Thanks for sharing, some of those things bring back great memories. But also kinda sad to see what meant so much to one man being sold. We are only caretakers of the possessions we have for a short time. Many years ago I purchased a 40 Ford in Iowa, in the glove box were envelopes with letters the owner had written to his sweetheart during the war, I only read one. I passed them on with the car when I sold it but that car was never mine, for me it will always be that guy named Robert.

I worked a Chevy dealership here in North Little Rock , Arkansas when the first Monte Carlo was delivered . It was a SS454 , black with black interior and loaded with options . Sticker price was high so it was on the lot for a good while until it sold . Such a beautiful car . Don't see many first gen Monte Carlo's anymore , they one of my favorites . Cool video .

That’s exactly what’s going to happen when I’m gone. There’s going to be 40 guys standing in the building saying why did he save that. Because I knew I had it I knew where it went. I’m gone, stories gone.🤷🏼‍♂️👍🏼🙏

I’ve been getting rid of all my stashes while I’m still alive. Don’t want the kids to have to deal with it. Most folks don’t know the value of old dual quad intakes and whatnot anyway so I might as well do it myself

I turn 65 this year and getting ready to retire. My grandfather had a repair shop in the 20’s 30’s and 40’s in a coal mining town in KY. He died kind of young so my dad ran it until the Korean War. After that he had an opportunity to open a Chevrolet dealership outside of Detroit and mom and dad moved north. I was born shortly after. A uncle ran the repair shop in KY. Well dad died a while ago. Now I have this huge warehouse in KY with 100 years of accumulated stuff. I have told myself I am not going to die and leave all that stuff for people to pick through. I will auction it off over the next 5-10 years so my greedy relatives don’t try to move on it. I have seen that happen, it’s ugly,

That Monte Carlo would have been fast on the top end with 2.56 gears ...not a drag car but a runner on the highway...I'm always amazed when I see the old diagnostic equipment in these shops and think of the handheld ones we have today although I'd prefer that Sun tool it requires skill and knowledge to use it ...thanks for sharing your car world with us...Karl from eastern Canada

This is great to see! I have to laugh cause one day I will need to go through all of the old Harley Davidson parts I've accumulated over the years or else when I die this is what's going to happen with my stuff. And I know my kids won't want to deal with it. I'm just not ready yet but very soon. God bless you guys. It sure is fun to watch y'all do what you do. Thanks for making this old Ironworker smile!😊

I don't know about Chevy but mid 70's Buicks had different components depending on plant it was built in. Like all Flint Buicks had Buick engines but other plants could have Chevy 305s or 350s and Pontiac 301 engines and different turn signal modules and rocker panel trim. They were supposed to have the Olds 350 as an engine too but I have never seen one. Nice find. There us a guy near me in central Florida that has two 20's era Willis Knight cars for sale on FB Marketplace. They had the sleeve valve engines. Pretty rare. You never know!

That was the decade General Motors became Generic Motors. It happened before my era so it doesn't ruffle me too much... but boy were there some customers VERY chapped about it at the time it was going on. Eventually they put a disclaimer in the fine print: "GM cars are equipped with engines built by various divisions..."

12 bolt posi with 2:56:1 gears rear end LOL!! nice rear end with a posi but it has a unwanted highway gear in it. Usually muscle cars have a better gear like a 4.10,l 3.55 or a 3.73 I guess someone wanted the big engine and get good gas mileage too.

I would have liked to have those 70 Monte Carlo door panels. I have a 70 Monte Carlo that I've owned since 1987. It currently has black seats, carpet, and dash pad but the rest is the factory blue interior. My original blue seats are trashed and the replacement black seats are mint. I'm thinking of switching it all over to black. Nice find of that build sheet. The 70 and 71 Monte Carlo SS cars are rare.
