Organisations such as GiveDirectly fight against the most common misconception of the worlds poor; that they are too lazy, incapable or otherwise too stupid to be trusted with improving their own situation. This is just simply not the case. In fact being poor is the most difficult job in the world, and the worlds poor are the hardest workers in the world. Additionally, they have better insight into how their own situation could be improved, than any government, aid organisation or company ever could. Giving them money directly not only empowers them to act on their own situation, but also reconizes their agency and competence in the eyes of the world. Great work Jimmy and i hope to see more initiatives like this from you in the future!

This is so different from the majority of poverty in the US and Canada. My uncle is homeless. I know he's in my town somewhere, I ask ppl about him every once and a while to make sure he's alive. We've tried to help him, he lived with me for a little. He's lived with my parents, his boss, his parents, his best friend. He just disappears after a while, usually after stealing something from you. We got him a job last time and even got his boss to pay him daily instead of biweekly. (If you paid him biweekly, he'd get the lump sum, spend it all on booze and not show up to work for 3 or 4 days cause he's on a binge). We pooled a bunch of money and spent over $10k to send him to rehab, at his request. He left after 4 days. We even went so far as to get him put under a 72hr psych hold after he fell asleep with a cigarette in his mouth and burned down a halfway house with over a dozen people inside (every got out thank god). I've given up at this point, I hate to say that. If he came to me seriously wanting to get his shit together, I'd listen, but it'll never happen. Some people just don't want to be helped unfortunately

Hello! I have a Cool idea. You always help people, give something. What if we did the help Jimmy style? Should I help in the form of a strategy where civilization is developing, like in a game? At first there is nothing in the villages, and you put a mentor in each village, who develops the economy there, builds a store, then a school, helps organize work, people’s income, infrastructure? This will help fundamentally change people’s lives. Don’t give them the best, but teach them the best. Come to great results yourself and be an example for others. I think your team, and Jimmy, will definitely like this idea. And I could tell it to you in more detail. Peace be with you🔥 Like if you like the idea ❤️

I write from the island of Grenada 🇬🇩 to ask if you would be able to assist in helping our sister islands, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. We were hit by hurricane Beryl which has left major devastation to our nation. Your assistance in any capacity in building back and supporting our people who are currently without food, water or homes is greatly appreciated. Your team Jimmy and Darren do so much for the world. And we love you for that. Thank you!

I went with a mission trip organization back in 2006 when I was still in a church. Now I am in contact with them because we are still just friends. I went with teen missions international and I flew from Florida, to Dulles, to Italy for a layover, then it easy for an overnight layover, then onto a small shady airplane out of some creepy movie to Uganda, hours in the back of an open hay truck with all of our luggage and our entire team, then on a boat for four hours across lake. I only explained that because I felt like there might be some doubt as to if my story was real

Well my grandpa when I was born in 1998 had adopted a child from Africa with unicef until he died in 2012. He was not rich and he was just a farmer from the mountainous Greece. The letters from unicef demanding money are still coming to his address and are often very rude. After a Greece unicef and other npo scandal in 2022 a list was released and all the money he gave was going to the mafia and not in the African family that died before even they received a penny.

he makes much more with YT and ads and advertisement than you think.. for example right now the vid has 15 m. views so it means for a normal youtuber 15 x 15.000 dollar just per clicks and ads and ads in the videos what you dont acutally see.. and he has a special contract with YT - i bet he makes atleast 20k per million views.. so 300.000 Dollar only because people CLICKEd the video and did not even watched AD's but you cant look away in the video at certain moments.. and there are a lot of people without adblock or using TV / Smartphones so you can do the math with 50k per million views 15 * 50.000 = 750.000 Dollar with that Video he had really fun with..
