Congrats! Bold and very cool to capture - and share - that moment (back in 2019?). Even today when there is an endless stream of "home made" sailing videos/channels, yours is by far the most comforting and enjoyable to follow. You are not always right on the sailing and tech side (who is?), but you fess up, learn, and move on. And in its wake leave behind very teachable moments for a wider audience. On many fronts. Add to that superb camera work, editing, and for quite a while now also a stellar music compilation. All that makes this insanely enjoyable, not on a small iPhone or PC monitor, but on a large HD TV out in the living room with a decent sound system. It is 1.48 AM on a Monday morning, I should be finishing up some work for my team tomorrow AM, but it is so easy to (again) get dragged in and follow your adventures. Worthy to note also, as Lauren mentions 12 min in, "we been in this boatyard, working, for the last 3 months". Owning - and actually using - a cruiser takes a lot of work. Many people looking for boats totally forget that it is not always a smooth and fun ride.

I follow a few other sailing channels and there seems to be something in the water? Wow!! First of all, congratulations on the greatest moment of your lives!! I must confess that I love your story together. This episode reminds me of that same time in my life when we read “the results” . I was stationed in Iceland in the US military when suddenly my father in law, who had liver disease, was was called for an emergency liver transplant and we flew back to California, after the surgery we took that test. Our lives changed forever, greater expectations became the new norm. No longer was the dream of becoming the next metal guitarist, but to invest into what eventually became two new lives. They are now grown and I cannot be more proud of the women that they have become. I can’t wait to see your story!!

For the water by your pintle, those four bolts on the vertical panel just aft and above your pintle hold the "U" shaped fairing between the skeg and the rudder, this could be the cause of some weeping. When I had my rudder out, I dropped this fairing and re-bedded it, no more weeping.

Keep up the good work! Try using POR15 or similar on rusty ferrous. Works great for stopping salt rust It works sort of Ok on aluminum too. You shouldn't have that much coming out of the vented loop. If you had a proper loop it would help but is your back pressure too much? Is the loop upstream of the mixing elbow? If so your elbow maybe clogged. If you can get the loop you have now higher that would help too. A plug that you remove to flush would be more reliable as there would be less to go wrong.

@@SailingSoulianis If you run the vent as high as you can go it shouldn't leak at all. Mine vents back to the bilge. When it starts pumping water into the bilge I know there's some kind of back pressure, like the elbow is clogged. Poor man's manometer, Clogged elbow makes you motor unhappy as it carbons up the combustion chamber and valves. Can also lead to overheating.
