Your knowledge of the rocks you come across baffles me. What I wouldn’t give to go on a single expedition with you. Teaching myself with books and videos has only gotten me so far. Being with someone with field experience who can point out the rocks in real time would suit my learning style so much better. How did you learn so much? I would love to make a trip out to that area in the future but I wouldn’t have much success going solo with my lack of actual agate hunting experience.
@RockhoundingLife Жыл бұрын
I have some foundational knowledge from my geology degree. The rest is jusr from experience, as you say, going out with other rockhounds. Facebook groups in your local area are a good resource as well.

Some beautiful finds! Could you get to that location with a boat or is the shore too rocky?
@RockhoundingLife Жыл бұрын
Shore a bit too rocky and the tides are an issue.

How was the descent down Coyote Pass? I remember it being tougher than Amethyst Cove, but it's been a long time since I went there lol
@stormmapping8917 Жыл бұрын
13:10 looks like calcite based on the cleavage, a UV light could help with that though

The pass is all grown in ,does get much use but we found our way down ,not a lot of people know ex wher it is
@RockhoundingLife Жыл бұрын
It was tough for sure. Grown in a bit. Harder than Amethyst cove IMO.

Are Lobster Hole and this place as treacherous and steep as Amethyst Cove?
@RockhoundingLife Жыл бұрын
Coyote pass is worse than the ropes at amethyst cove IMO. Lobster hole isn't that bad.
