I see you're using the 500i. I have been doing my firewood business for just over a year now. I bought a Stihl Farm Boss with a 20" bar. It is a great saw; I also use the ethanol free gas in all my small engines. The MS 271 Farm Boss has always worked great but recently I purchased the 500i with a 25" bar and HOLY COW!!!!!! This saw KICKS A--!!!!! Sorry but this saw cuts at least twice as fast. I just got a bunch of white oak logs in. The MS271 would cut it but it doesn't like it, the 500i has NO issues at all. Thank you, Mike, for making these videos, you are the reason that I started my small business and I am loving it.

Mike, you've used the word "jag" describing a quantity of material. My grandparents had a farm near Altoona, PA. Before balers, hay was handled loosely, loading onto the wagon and hauling it to the barn. A rope and pulley suspended from rafters had a long steel spike attached. The spike was plunged into the loose hay, lifted up and dumped into the hay loft. Grandad called this a "jag" of hay. Western PA is the only place I've heard the word. 😎

. Good morning Morgan's from a cooler gulf Coast .I will go on record to say, I hate raking leaves , picking up leaves and heaven forbid burn the leaves. A few years ago I had friend who had a yard full of beautiful hardwoods, down in the south we have oaks, poplar, pecan , hickory and beech trees for the most part and perfectly capable of producing tons of leaves. It was maybe early November ,she called me and asked me could get the leaves out of front yard. I told her sure. I got to her house and the yard was 6 " deep in leaves. I used my backpack blower and for the next 2 hours I blew leaves till I thought I was going to scream. I told myself ,never again !!!!!!

Watching the splitting is so satisfying. Years ago I worked at a bowling center/ sports complex and they used a wood fired water heater. As a a pinsetter mechanic at night I would take care of the calls down back and also split the wood we got in by hand, no machine. Then stack it. That was a long and hard night. If we would have had one of those splitters that would have made my night a breeze. OH, I had to tend the fire also. That boiler would heat the showers and the rest of the hot water needs. Another thing, that was being paid less than 5 bucks an hour.

Greetings everyone. Christian, a guy that my son works with at DuPont in Circleville, Ohio was raising a pumpkin that would of can close to being the biggest at the Circleville Pumpkln Shiw this year but his came up with a fungus also. He ended up selling it to a carver for .50 a lb. And he got to keep the seeds. If I can figure it out I'll send a pic. It weighed 1846 lbs. So he made 923 dollars. You guys sure put the work into raising the pumpkins. Keep on trying and Mike, keep on keeping on. Give Hunter a big hello

Hi Mike, I remember your first video of the tilt bucket, you said they also have a mulching bucket for the excavator. That reminded me of another you tube chanel of a couple that bought 10 acres and wanted to fence it in plus clear a path for the electric company to put poles in. They hired a landscaping contractor to clear a path, and used a scid steer with a mulching bucket. And that made me think you could use one to cut your road from your wood yard to the clearing you made in about 6 to 8 hours.

I have the same wolf ridge as you Mike and it’s an awesome machine. But I sorta think I should have went with a vertical. I’m more in the smaller quantity premium firewood business. I don’t sell, nor do I have the time or help to produce enough to sell cords or more at a time. The push through style is just a bit harder to consistently size your wood. But I still love my 28c. Hey Mike. Have you ever considered a DR Cyclone for your zero-turn mower? I bought a used one in the Pro Series size in 2020. I have it hooked to my Ariens Ikon 52 and LOVE this thing. It is a beast for fall leaf clean up. It works just as well for grass pick up too, when I skip a week of mowing and have tall grass. I would recommend this for anyone with an acre or more with a lot of leaves.
@georgea6403 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I didn’t want to spend $1600 to just pick up leaves but realized it does grass too. I can cut just over half an acre empty 1 time. The DR brand has a vicious impeller that shreds 10 bags of leaves down to 1. Can be a chipper also.
