Totally agree man I bought a s13 from Chicago for 1,000 and it was a rust bucket bone stock but it was someone's parts car. I found a great rolling shell from Texas and got it for 500$ so worth it it came with like 2,000$ worth of parts so I'm in the middle of my 240 build. It has been a great learning experience I'm thinking about starting a channel for it but just not sure

Ford did a few V4 powered cars/vans in the 60s/70s.I worked on and owned a Ford Transit van with a 1700cc version of the v4,the early versions including the v6 had problems with the cam drive, it was a fibre gear that failed on a regular basis.They did a 2000cc version that they put in a car called Capri gt,they also put a v6 version as well it was fast(for the time).All the early v engines suffered from head gasket failures we changed them to german made rhienz gaskets.I also remember the V6 suffered from rocker arm adjustment rods pulling out of the heads.I am from the UK,and worked on fords in the 60/70s Ford Anglia/cortinaZephyr/Escort/Capri,those were the days😊

In response to your uncertainty on cars with a V4, there are some, like a bunch of old Fords and some Lancias, too, I think. The most unrelated example is probably Porsche's 919 Hybrid LMP1H endurance prototype. On the subject of alternate four-bangers, what's the story on that STi is that in the shop? It's preeettyy... 90% of the time that is the opposite. Buying someone else's project or built car usually just means you just inherent all the problems they didn't want to deal with, have to fix the dumb shit they did wrong, or they ragged on it and are selling before it blows. Sometimes you get lucky, but this exact car already had a failed injector that literally filled everything from the intake to throttle body with fuel.
