That was complete abuse of power. They never should have treated any of you like that. I understand that the cops need to do their job and that they had their protocols. But the way they treated you three was unreasonable. You could file a lawsuit against them for this. And since you're a makeup artist and you work with models, I'm sure you already know that anybody who is spreading rumors about you that are wrong you can file for slander against them. I'm a model myself, taking a break for a little while until I can get myself where I need to be for photos. I've been through libel cases plenty of times. Maybe you're nicer than me and you won't pursue anything further, but you definitely can and you really should. This whole situation could have been avoided. I'm so sorry this happened to you. This could tarnish your good name and it shouldn't. It was a mistake and it needs to be rectified.

They only read your rights when they know they are going to take you to the police station as the right are "anything you do or say can and will be used against you in the caught of law" so unless they have an intention to take you to caught they don't read them. And they don't tell you why you are being detained bc if they do then you have a better idea of what to cover up for if that makes sense, so if a wanted criminal has done many crimes then a police officer tells them what's they are being detained for they can cover up for it but if they don't know it may be easier to get truer answers :) (btw not hating in you for this just explaining why)

In murder cases there are definitely times where they won’t tell the suspect why they’re being arrested until while they’re being interrogated. I think it’s so they can’t talk to anyone to get a false alibi, or so they can’t make up a lie until they’re asked what happened. Not saying it’s right, just something I’ve noticed American police do in interrogations, asking why they think they’re there etc. I’m not American, and I definitely like how our police do it more than the American police. I also don’t understand why American police’s first reaction is always to pull up a gun

These officers actions may have seemed unlawful but they are not. Their number one priority is to safely detain and secure a murder suspect without incident. That’s why they don’t answer your questions of why you’re being detained. Once they have secured the suspects and the scene… then they will tell you why you’re being detained and may read your rights if they want to question you about the alleged crime .

I have worked amongst law enforcement for almost 17 years....and because I know how things can change in a second I literally have panic attacks even when I think I am getting pulled over. Every Officer is different and I have met the nicest ones out there but I have also met the worst of the worst. I would have had a heart attack. My heart hurts for you. LAPD did this but worse to my poor dad that was dying of cancer. They mistook him for someone else and he begged them not to drag him across the asphalt because he was frail and sick and they did it anyway. They raided are home and even pointed their guns at my 5 year old niece who was living in our home. It was one of the most traumatic things my family ever went through and my dad got a lawyer to sue but they discouraged it. It takes a whole lot of money you most likely will lose. That’s info for the people saying sue them. That’s honestly so crazy. I’ve got a massive fear of that happening to me, that somehow I’ll get framed for something, but that comes with not being white. I think this could have happened to anyone, and it’s very unfortunate it happened to you guys. I've literally been run off of the road by a cop car while driving in intense traffic because my car matched the description of a getaway vehicle, and there was so much drama and anger just for the cop to realize the back window of my car was still intact so he didn't infact have the right car, and he just took over running. I could've crashed my car. Another time I got briefly detained for matching the description of a domestic violence suspect, and same situation, hardly any explanations and tons of anger, it's so hard to handle. Fuck the police forever. I'm glad you didn't die.
