I've told MANY friends about tuning their jerkbaits! 😎👍 I think you're the first pro I've ever heard mention it. So many people don't think about tuning them but it's the exact same thing as a jerkbait. Cast it out and reel it back and it should come straight back. Otherwise, when you reel it down, it'll blow out and you're never getting max depth when it matters most.

I allways said if you Not like the weather here “stand still”. …. I can relate. To how you feel about the weather, I work out in it hour shifts pushing bugy/ carts for a Grocery store chain! It hard to be prepared for Our weather, live here 60 plus years. It colder on the water than a lot think! It feels worse out in the Mountains! !

I’m from northern Ontario, for early spring smallies literally let your bait sit for a minute at a time and one or two jerks then pause. I find that swim baits are usually when the water is warm is like right before spawn

Scott, that was a Hybrid bass. Very big one. Half striper, half white bass. Biggest one I’ve ever seen. They’re taller and the stripes are broken up.

If you were a videographer/Editor/Producer/Etc, you might have a different perspective. I imagine they already have a back log of videos to edit/etc. So it’s virtually impossible to produce the volume and quality of the videos SMC do within a one week turn around. I’ve only seen maybe 2 people on his personal “media team”. I could be wrong, but I’d bet it’s not much more than 2… if 2. Also take a look at the length of this video, it’s over an hour long. That is a LONG episode to edit… and there aren’t even 4 2-minute commercial breaks built in. Additionally, count how many camera shots you see in Scott’s videos. No less than 3 GoPro, and at least 2 other cameras that McCoy, etc, carry around. When they edit, they have to sync up all those cameras and audio sources too. I’m a professional Video Editor. This what I’ve done for the better part of 20 years. There are days where it takes a full 8 hours to just edit a 30 second TV commercial. I’m not faulting anyone for thinking it takes too long for them to post events videos. We’ve all been reprogrammed into thinking this way these days with our microwave society and technology. 😊

I caught an 18lb Striper on a jerkbait and 10lb line a couple weeks ago on Lanier and it was a fight son! 🤣 Good times.. and I don't think catching it was really worth patting myself on the back for but getting that fat sucker in the boat took some skill lol😎 Not to mention it broke one treble off and bent two others out but never broke me off and never came off🤙
