I still believe the reason that Austin “doesn’t recognise” Sam apart from the whole mask thing, is that in school her hair is always straight and she had it curled for the dance. The baseball scene didn't give me nightmares but you bet your ass that the tanning bed scene did. Also this movie gets the point of the original so well, because it was NEVER about finding a man, it was about being able to dress in a nice gown and have a fun evening out and she just happened to find a prince. Prince Henri was just a fun little perk, the real highlight was wearing that sparkly silver dress and her magical glass slippers.

Strange experience to go from regency or victorian era novel adaptations to these sort of stories, you want to ask people like Justin's dad "you do know that about a hundred years ago you'd be considered no different than people her right, you're a tradesman, not a gentleman, the only difference between you and the servants is that you made enough money to perhaps be invited through the front door rather than the back door in some houses, but you'd still be a nobody'.
