So my take on what ume meant by the coulda-woulda-shoulda line is that choji keeps saying things like if i become the strongest then ill be the most free and have fun but now he is the leader and is saying if i beat ume who is having fun then ill take over bofurin and be free and have fun. so choji is constantly looking for the next thing to achieve to have fun while forgetting what was fun in the first place

So glad you touched on the choreography - the fights are AMAZING! The hand to hand is some of the best I’ve literally ever seen to consistently come out of a pretty fairly new animanga, honestly only a level or two below some of the modern day heavy hitters like JJK or One Piece. You definitely hit the nail on the head - every fight feels like it’s own arc and story since every character has such different styles and ideals. FIRE start to a series imo, and glad to see you’re loving it! Also: for the “coulda-woulda-shoulda” Ume is basically saying if Choji doesn’t just accept life as it comes - his failures and all - he’ll never really win anything in life.

Agreed about the choreography! I love the attention to detail in the different fighting styles for each character. Even for characters like Sakura that on first glance seem to be a straight brawler, they show his flexibility, speed and use of kicks to differentiate him. It also works in tandem with characterization. This episode you see how Choji's fighting style is high energy with a lot of jumping around everywhere while in contrast Umemiya stays pretty stable and strong in his stance. Which works well in showing how Umemiya is a strong pillar of Furin.

I’m not a manga reader so don’t tell me if I’m wrong (anyone), but it seems to me like they’re doing this setup so hard for Togame both as a means to develop Sakura more and because Togame will flip to Bofurin and be a recurring character in the main cast.

@missplainjane3905 Yeah, it's just I like Wind breaker more than tokyo revengers(don't get me wrong, i really liked the plot of tokyo revengers(was good till Tenjiku and Bonten arc)but after the manga fumbled the ending and final arc, I hated the series and the animation is bad(especially fight sequences). Hope next part of Wind breaker has such fire animation and we see more of the story

Sigh, a bit disappointed with Sakuras fight overall. Last episode made it clear Sakura wouldve lost had Togame didnt lose his nerve. The whole conversation and motivation thing didnt do it for me. I'm praying to God fights going forward are not like this and he can hold it down from start to finish

Togame being commander doesn't necessarily mean he has to be stronger than Sakura. It just means he should be a dude that isn't a run of the mill thug that he can run through. My point is, even though I want Sakura to win, that last episode made it clear, he would've lost and might as well instead of this. His face could've been smashed in like intended, and togame could've thought he knocked him out and the boom, Sakura is up and showing the whole "not averting his eyes" thing.
