yes its always nice to hear that cabin crews are primarily there for safety and services than just being paid stewards or such. Pilots who do this when they discuss emergencies say that the cabin crews know what to do if something happens, don't bother them.

That’s so awesome. I hope you achieve your dream and join the team at a great airline!! I wish I had become a flight attendant when I was younger. I’m 33 years old now, married for 5 and actively trying to start a family so I wouldn’t want to still be traveling like that but from maybe 19 to 23/24 before I met my husband, I would have LOVED to have experienced the life of a FA! Definitely an under rated, under appreciated and significantly under paid job, but so many FAs do the job with so much energy, kindness and grace. ❤️

Awesome. It kills me when I hear about passengers giving FA's a hard time. You all deserve so much respect. You have 300 peoples lives in your hands. You should toot your horn...you saved someone's life.

I can’t tell you how much it warms my heart to know that you and the rest of the crew knew exactly what to do with the medical emergencies and didn’t hesitate to act. My husband had a heart attack on a SW flight a few years ago and believe me…to watch the flight attendants I don’t think they had ever been trained…deer in headlights. Unfortunately, my husband did not make it. Believe me when I say that those families will be thanking God every night for your training and asking that he shower his blessings on y’all. You toot your horn as much as you desire, you saved 2 lives and that is definitely something.

LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3 Tie two or three colored ribbons of different lengths around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it. Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the turnstile... These ribbons make your luggage different and easy to spot when the piece is surrounded by 35 other black cases unloaded from the bus. Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long. Cut the ends at 45 degrees then seal the end with one drop of Super Glue to prevent fraying when you have completed any trimming. Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape. Tie the 3 ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. It is too short to catch on anything. You can see this ribbon from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. This way, it won’t slide around. This knot does not loosen. Put your phone number on one ribbon using a permanent Sharpie. Example: “Owner 454-333-7878” Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. Stand by the output hole port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing the piece. Tie your skiies, duffel bag, and what ever with matching ribbons-even your computer case. If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself. Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible. Pleasant color combinations: Red and blue Chartreuse and purple Orange and light blue Orange and yellow Gray and pink Green and yellow Red and Green Red and Gold Light blue and light green The third ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like”. Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape...
@UtahTabby3 жыл бұрын
Great ideas other than names & phone numbers on ribbons; for privacy & security, it'd be better to use initials and just the city & state...for instance, KAT-DFW-TX is enough of an identifier without letting some creep see her name & phone number. Or even use a pet's name; SMOKEY-DFW-TX works well. The point is, everyone can tell it's not THEIR bag and the inside tape works to let "lost luggage customer service" know whose bag it is.
@timberrr11263 жыл бұрын
The word “owner” doesnt reveal any name. A phone number works well. If the luggage is lost, a phone number works. Codes are cryptic.
@timberrr11263 жыл бұрын
The name “Owner” just points to the phone number as the owner. No name involved. The phone number allows quick return. Codes are cryptic. No need for a state.

kudos to you for responding to emergencies. I was on a united flight and a teen sitting next to me ended up going into a full seizure. i was able to recognize it right away and called for assistance and the response i got from the attendant was " well what do you want me to do about it". i was shocked. luckily i was a youth hockey coach and was able to help the young man. but i was quite surprised when the crew didn't even call for a paramedic or some kind of medical to check him out at the gate. especially when the aunt sitting a row back said he doesn't have a history of seizures. needless to say i was very disappointed by the united crew response. with that said absolutely toot your horn.

A few years back, I was on a flight heading home to Michigan, flying from ANC-SLC to change planes and about 1/2hr before we landed in SLC, one of the flight attendants came over the PA asking if there was any medical on board. I’m a medical assistant and offered to help. I was able to help the man in distress but one thing that really impressed me a lot, was how great the entire flight crew was. They helped me in anyway possible, kept the passengers calm and truly were right there for anything I needed to help the man. There were also 2 other nurses on board, and nurses are amazing don’t get me wrong, but the FA’s were THE BEST in helping. Once we landed in SLC, medical was on stand by and the man was transported to a local hospital. It was a team effort that day and again, the FA’s were AMAZING!! I did what I was trained to do and so did the crew. Found out later, luckily because I was staying on the same plane into Michigan, that the man was doing better and would make a full recovery! Y’all deserve to toot your own horn, what you do takes heart. ❤️

All the FAs would do is contact the flight deck to give an alarm to the SLC regional center and they would ensure that the KSLC personnel would roll out appropriate equipment. Expensive to run an airport, but sometimes the little things help.

Fearful flyer here. It's by far my least favorite way to travel. I avoid it as much as possible. But I know eventually I'll have to fly again whether it be for work or in my personal life.
