Love watching the egg cutting and hatching. Wasn't nice when Emily said 'Let's see how many normals and condas we have' they open a lid and all I see is chicken drumsticks cooking lol. I don't mind watching ads so Snake Discovery gets the adsense but wish KZbin wouldn't put them at the most important part of the video lol. I did have to have a laugh about it. I was all excited to see the babies out of their eggs and then all I see is chicken lol.

I must confess, I couldn't read the last half of your comment the first time through. My eyes filled with tears after 'chicken drumsticks cooking' from laughing so hard. I wound up with this mental image of Emily lifting the lid on the eggs, and then the video cutting to her lifting the lid off of a pot they're frying chicken in and Ed casually commenting on how they needed a main dish to go with their deviled eggs... 😂

Yesterday (Sept. 20th) I rescued 2 Praying Mantises from imminent death by my cats. It's been a very long time since I've actually (willingly!) picked up an insect, but thanks to following your channel for the past year or so, I wasn't at all squeamish. One was quite large & all green, & the other one was smaller with red along the wingtips. I don't know what they do over the winter, so I'll have to look that up. But I was proud of myself for rescuing them, and, truth be told, actually noticing them in the grass. At my age, visual acuity isn't what it used to be! LOL Loving your channel from Ontario, Canada. Take care & stay safe.

So I've been wondering something that is in line with the fact that Ed & Emily see better eating with pairs. I honestly wonder if water-loving snake species are all more social that we give them credit for. In this case, baby hognoses may stick around water in order to eat tadpoles instead of the adults eating toads away from the water. Garter Snakes, ribbon snakes, nerodia, all of them are social species and frequent waterways. I wonder if it may be the case for hognoses (or at least the babies)?

I know this comment is old (Im binging SD videos..) but wanted to add: there are lots of grass snakes where I come from (central Europe), their babies usually hang out near/in water. If you see one you can be sure you will spot a bunch in a second! They seem to stick together. I think you may be onto something.

I wonder if the feeding thing is from instinctual competition. Anticipation of inadequate food would encourage eating as much as possible when food is available.

I'm kind of wondering if they're going to be able to produce them next year because I mean last year I think they had condos and they had albinos just not in the same clutch even though it was possible to get them in the same clutch but both jeans didn't hit and in this both jeans hit so hopefully they have somebody aged up to where they can breed albino supers next year essentially they look like little worms in armor at that point

The nonsensical anxiety I felt when I saw you were not spraying the baby bins… And the equally nonsensical relief when I saw you remembered and finally sprayed them… Why is my brain like this!?!? 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

2:27 Apparently it's called a slotted turner. But it might be a Mandela affect bcs most ppl remember it as a spatula.

Save a coda and raise it up that is a female and then when big enough breed it to a albino male Conda so we might get a albino super conda with no spots.

They are absolutely hissdorable! 🥰 I just want to inform you that on the spatula debate, you're both right. The metal slotted one is what my family refers to as the hot food spatula. Some call it a pancake turner but its still the same thing. Hope that helps a little.
