It's been a very long time since I've actually (willingly!) picked up an insect, but thanks to following your channel for the past year or so, I wasn't at all squeamish. One was quite large & all green, & the other one was smaller with red along the wingtips. I don't know what they do over the winter, so I'll have to look that up. But I was proud of myself for rescuing them, and, truth be told, actually noticing them in the grass. At my age, visual acuity isn't what it used to be! LOL Loving your channel from Ontario, Canada. So I've been wondering something that is in line with the fact that Ed & Emily see better eating with pairs. I honestly wonder if water-loving snake species are all more social that we give them credit for. In this case, baby hognoses may stick around water in order to eat tadpoles instead of the adults eating toads away from the water. Garter Snakes, ribbon snakes, nerodia, all of them are social species and frequent waterways. I wonder if it may be the case for hognoses (or at least the babies)?

I know this comment is old (Im binging SD videos..) but wanted to add: there are lots of grass snakes where I come from (central Europe), their babies usually hang out near/in water.
