For further perspective on the strength of Shiratorizawa, remember that they beat Aoba Johsai in the Miyagi qualifiers for the summer Interhigh (Season 1). As for cheering for the opposing team, I feel like mainly since 1x16 (Winners and Losers) Haikyuu!! really makes you feel for any team that loses. The writing is great at making you care for not simply Karasuno but all the teams. So you don't need to apologise for cheering for the other team, or for singing any opponents' chants which all seem to be earworm songs (looking at you Date Tech!).

They focus on both teams because you have to realize in sports both teams have suffered to get where they are now so yes cheer for your favorite team but that doesn't you have to hate the other side always respect both teams in any sport

This show is different from Kuroko, so you don't have to call the opponents the 'enemy' you can call them rivals or the other team. The writers wanted to portray what volleyball is like and the true feelings of the game.

Actually it's okay to cheer the other team, because that's how Haikyuu works, you can't hate anyone and think them(Karasuno's opponent) as a enemy at all
