We have arrived in Japan!

Day 1 - Mountain tour
After our long flight, we managed to get through the 7 document checks and PCR test at Tokyo Airport within 1 1/2 hours of landing (far better than the expected 3hrs!).
A very quick taxi to Tokyo station saw us catch the last Shinkansen train to Nagaoka with 5 minutes to spare. We finally reached our hotel 24 hours after departing London and crashed out around 3am.
The alarm woke us at 7am and were at our first farm for 8am. We spent the first day touring the looking for suitable high quality koi and discussing tategoi selection with breeders. We have already located some stunning Tosai (1 year old) and the breeders are now starving these fish ready for netting the ponds for our selection.
A total of 14 breeders, 36 fish houses and around 200 ponds of koi have been inspected and we are very satisfied with stocks viewed to date.
Sorry no koi photos today, but we will prepare for tomorrows email and posts.
