Aw I love this! So happy you’re finding something that works for your family. I feel for Violet, I was the same way throughout elementary and I can clearly still remember the panic/nervous feelings I had and wished I could be homeschooled. I “grew out” of it later on but I hate thinking back on it now as an adult. Your girls will thank you later 💛

100 easy lessons worked really well for us! I made a tracker with 100 squares and he got to put a sticker after each lesson. It really motivates him. At 25, 50, and 75, he got to pick a special treat at the store, then when we got to 100 I gave him his first bible. We did get ready for the code along with it and once he was done with ABC, we moved on to explore the code 1. Love it because it’s independent work and it works!

We just started our homeschool journey also. There’s a chuckle and roar bingo game at Target my girls 2 and 4 have been loving it has ABC, animal, traditional and sight word bingo!

We love Masterbooks and it's been working really well for us! We use it for language, math, and science so far. I've loved everything we have used and I think it's a very gentle approach. They also do lots of spiraling throughout everything. For example, my son is doing second grade math but they still every so often will review the first grade concepts. I can't say enough good things about them!

Find this inspiring as I plan to homeschool my kids. Being homeschooled myself this was exactly what my mum would do with us is just using things around the home, nature and just a non schooling school approach! I remember I’d love to dress up in a “school uniform” each day and I’d create my own schedule as I am very schedule orientated and my mum would just work around it. But she’d work around how it worked for me and then adjusted things for my siblings as they were older and didn’t like being on a schedule. 👍🏻👍🏻 good job 👍🏻

You are so organized, Kendra! I feel like I have so many workbooks and things I’ve laminated and dry erase boards and coloring books that I’m struggling to organize it all. I loosely started when my daughter was 3 and she would see all the stickers / markers / playdoh / googly eyes and want to take them out! She’s 3.5 years old now and has more self control but I still find myself with tons of clutter

Loved this video!!! I'm looking for a new laminator because mine STINKS like hot plastic when I'm using it and also when its off and just sitting on the counter. Does the Merece have a plastic smell?

I hope that people don’t see this and think all those things are necessary to start their first year of homeschool. It’s awesome that you have a laminator and binder to make booklets and manipulatives and all the books to read and the built in desks and shelves. But to the moms that are thinking to start You Don’t Need All The Things. Depending on your child’s age you just need a pencil and a paper and a cozy spot to get started.

I really found interesting Homeschooling since here in Uruguay we are not allow to do so, its not legal. I love watching Angela Braniff videos about it. My daugher LOVES going to school but I also tried to do some things at home with her. Im glad you can make the choice and that Violet and June loves that you are now their Teacher.

Two curriculum companies I would recommend are the Well Trained Mind and Bookshark. We use Saxon Math which is the old school math and it is a repetition type program where they consistently review previous lessons learned. I would not recommend Saxon Math kindergarten I would recommend just giving head to Saxon Math 1 first grade even if the child is in kindergarten

Unfortunately here in Greece, the school-education program does not support the home schooling. I am sure you gona be the best teacher.

I did the master books math last year and it was super easy it was more like for pre k. I’m sure your girls can do the master books kinder math. It’s super easy

I love how you really saw how unhappy your kids were at the school and did something about it! I hope that you stay open to putting them back into school if in the future that's what would make them happier. Thankfully our daughter loves her school and constantly asks when she can go again, sometimes on the way home. It would make me soooo sad if she didn't like her school.

Sorry dumb question but what grade are the girls in? K primer i haven't heard of. Is it pre-k or kindergarten? My daughter just started kindergarten this year and we live in Texas. I lost so much sleep trying to figure out how to go about starting to homeschool her. I was so afraid i was going to do something wrong with registering her. I honestly still don't know the correct process. Long story short i ended up sending her to school but really want to pull her and homeschool. With covid it worries me sick and unfortunately my city doesn't take covid seriously but that's another issue lol. Any help please if anyone could share it thanks

Plus I know anything can change but at this point is this just to get thru covid stuff or are you thinking of homeschooling long term? BTW your girls have gotten so big. I live in Texas also. Homeschooling laws are super relaxed. You basically don't have to do anything to start homeschooling. Let the school and teacher know that you are homeschooling and then take your kid out of school. Research it so you feel more comfortable with the laws.

“When do we start school mom?” “This is school.” 😂 that’s amazing! Shame, I feel for all the kids having to not only try to learn through a mask (listening to a teacher wearing a mask is just ridiculous) but also the anxiety of seeing everyone in them. It’s sad. Anyhoo, you seem really happy and so do your kids 😊 yay! It’s nice you’ve started young because now is the time to explore and play, you don’t have to worry about fixed curriculums, just see whatever works for your family etc. Exciting to see you at the start of your journey 😃
