Hi fooster have a couple of tips for you Tip 1 If you spend to long on the ground and make to much noise the sabertooth will come and hunt you down Tip 2 Elders have no fear of the unknown so can be used to explore areas but have lower stamina Tip 3 When in trees you can swing from the leaves by holding the A button on Xbox to chain some cool swings between the leaves of trees Tip 4 To sharpen sticks quickly you need to find basult and smash them together to create a basult chopper then use that on the sticks Tip 5 Use the normal rocks to create a grinder to grind up the red leaves and the horsetail into a paste which has very good buffs when applied Tip 6 When placing a item in a clan members hand you inhibit their chance to copy you when drinking or eating in your camp I hope you see this comment, keep going on ancestors it is amazing so far

yes the saber is coined named stalker cat by the community, because it spawns specifically to hunt YOU. it is not a normal saber that wonders and patrols its territory. its best to kill it rather than avoiding it because if you kill it, it will stop spawning until you evolve. its much more enjoyable to explore when its dead.

I've tried watching three other KZbinrs play this game and I just couldn't get into it, they were just skipping ahead so fast and not really explaining anything or exploring. But since you played it I've been deeply invested in it and actually plan on getting the game, it's really nice how you break the game down and show us you learning as well so we don't feel so blindsided when we start the game

Hey Fooster! Tips for generation jump: •Every reinforcement equals a baby in your clan so if you have 3 reinforcements you have 3 babies in the clan. Reinforcements came be used to reinforce a skill you’ve learned in your neuronal system during your play through. Hope this helped!

Just a friendly reminder of a few things; craft a cutter with 2 stones. Some stones makes a grinder as you discovered and others a cutter. You already ALMOST made one :) Been waiting a few episodes to see if you'll stumble upon crafting it. Makes a sharpened stick in like 2-3 strikes, been awhile since I played. It's also used for a variety of other things. There is also a fishing spot right in your camp. And finally for every meteorite you discover with babies, you'll get additional reinforcement points AND a random mutation for the bb's. Hope these help and hopefully I'm not giving away too much! Thank you for, in my opinion, one of the most entertaining channels on youtube!

The last spot you found is going to be the best base location on this side of the jungle. There is only 1 other that's almost as good but it's in a corner of the map and pretty isolated so the cave you found is seriously ideal. There's all sorts of foods, medicines, and easy access to other parts of the map. And don't worry, there's no giant -spiders- in the game.... other stuff sure lol. So that cave is GREAT. You will discover more later I won't say but there's a way to stop the cats from wandering in

The under the cliff oasis is quite a good early on one even though you did get attacked there, as for other places the butterfly tree oasis and buried/hidden garden oasis are both very good but are very far away and the line kapok oasis (the one you’re at now) is only about a third of the way there. Under the waterfall oasis is pretty good and is closer. Some other words of advice you can build barriers to help block out predators with certain materials like dead branches, also no matter where you settle apart from the first oasis the murder kitties can find you it’s just some places you can more easily defend. Best of luck you’re doing great so far!

Yeah, you found one of the best colony locations at the end there. I think even a bit later in the game, I kept "re-finding" that one to move my family there. If you walk upright in the shallow water, it'll rank up that bipedal neuron, too

I think Lone Kapok or the Under The Cliff Oasis would both make good choices for a new settlement. Also, I’ve been seeing a lot of people give advice on reinforcement points that isn’t exactly the most clear, so I’ll break it down here comprehensively, feel free to not read if you would prefer to learn on your own. All the skills(neurons) that you’ve unlocked so far will disappear when you pass a generation and will need to be unlocked again, though they will be cheaper next time. However, when you do start to pass the generation you will have a certain number of reinforcement points to lock in skills so that you’ll always have them. The maximum number you can have is 12. You get one for each baby in your clan(max 6) and you also get 1 for each baby who is with you when you discover a meteorite(you’ll start finding these soon). You can get an additional 6 reinforcement points by bringing all 6 of your babies to the meteor, by bringing other apes with you and making them each carry 2 babies. This is the method for getting the most amount of reinforcement points

You dont actually need to complete the objectives, they are just there to help you get on the right path. I completed the entire game ignoring them. Also remember to lock down ur new abilities/skills, and make new babies (ideally as many as you can with each abe) each time you do a generation leap.

When you go into the neuronal section you can't infinitely update. You can only keep the stuff you unlock if you have the same amount of babies. For example, if you have five babies you can only unlock five things in the neuronal section. If you don't it won't save when you skip generations. Loving the content, keep it up!

also move to a area thats closer first and slowly make your way over to the one you actually want i saw this cause it would help you keep your clan members alive and less likely getting killed on the journey and it may take a while doing it this way but better to not lose lives then go all the way to a far new home and lose lots of lives

you can make a stone "axe" out of basalt just modify it the same way you did with granite rock. With that axe you can sharpen your stick faster and chop up the dead animals. That greyed out area is from bleeding out too much. Edit: Under-the-cliff Oasis is actually in my opinion is the best, because it has lots of different kinds of food, water and shelter from the rain. Also you can build a barricade to protect yourself from other animals.

Knock a couple of obsidian rocks together to make a scraper and you can make sharp sticks a lot quicker. There’s also a fishing spot in your camp. You can also build walls by making a stick pile, so you can keep the kitty cats out of the under the cliff area.

What an intense episode! Loving the series so far. Honey fresh off the comb is amazing. When I was a little kid my great grandma had a hive removed from their house walls and we got to eat some fresh comb. You chew it kind of like gum until all the honey is gone then spit out the wax. Tasty!

I love that you love this game too! This is so so cool! You can settle down if you build a sleeping spot in a new place, but you need to bring your clan along. All the other places will have pythons or big cats around, so you'll have to killl them and then secure the area (yes, you can do that, just try stockpiling different things and see if you can construct something ;-) Love this series, Fooster! :) and wishing you a happy new year in advance! :)

Like 20 minuets ago I was playing this game and I was moving to an new settlement as my clan was slinging through the trees one monke was attacked by a giant anaconda and I ever so slowly dragged my starving self towards the the snake and eventually got severely bit and then I stabbed it after finding fiber to cover the wound I jumped down to eat an heal then a saber tooth jumped up and nearly wiped out my clan then I quit out of rage.

@Fooster a couple of little tips: Once you have 6 babies you'll have six reinforcement points to use that will lock in the most important skills of your choice. You then need to skip a generation for the babies to grow to adults then repeat the process, you will need to re-learn other skills you never locked in. The idea is to try and lock in as many skills as possible before you evolve which will also move the clan to a new location. Events like discovering the meteor would of gained you extra points if you had 2 more adults carrying 2 babies each with you, a total of 6 babies would of gained you 6 extra points =12 in total. Edit: There is a fishing spot at your current base location, when the screen goes dark it means you're losing a little dopamine also don't forget to do the same with 2 obsidian and 2 basalt rocks. The circle bottom right of screen can contain 18 dots 6 adults (NW) 6 elders (NE) and 6 babies (S) inside circle, white dots on the outside of the circle are clan members not in the base that maybe lost or need rescuing, white dots with a line are clan members following you orange dots with a line are babies being carried, dots that have a glow are members with mutations.

Few tips: you can build defenses with a pile of 4 dead branches when you can pick up large objects in two hands, you can grab 4 thorn bush to make a pile of them, to then make a defense out of them. This can help to make other potential settlements more safe. You will make piles just like you do with the natal grass to make beds.
