Pleased Ken got his breakfast. Looked tasty. Will we see the “little red Yacht” anytime soon? Love visiting the Needles. Great views. Interesting hearing the history of the place. Agree with you that they shouldn’t charge more for campers. Could see us on the chair lift with 3 dogs🤣 well done being good with your dinner Ken 😉 you’ve found some great places we didn’t know about. Makes us feel we could happily go off grid on the IOW with Merlin now. 👍

Hi Ken and Carol we were on the island at the end of June to the middle of July. We have been going to the island for the last 30 years . We could not believe how quiet it was. Like you we believe parking should be free . We were shocked to see so many shops closed down. The parking charges are ridiculous. We tend to park out a bit and walk in. We love the IOW but the council need to wake up and not be so greedy. Just love your videos keep up the good work guys.

Can highly recommend the cafe you had breakfast as we visited there too! Lovely staff. You visited lots of places we recognised from our recent trip. There was a lovely farm shop/cafe from the footpath (where the ornaments were in the garden off the National Trust path at the Needles). A really nice coffee after a long walk (it is signposted). Hard to believe we were there ourselves a few weeks ago! Lovely vlog as always xx

Hi both, you know I've been to the Isle of Wight several times when the grandkids of were young and they always loved it but there were two or three places you went to that I've not seen before. Particularly the place you stayed the night at the end of this vlog. Is somewhere near the needles or by Freshwater. Anyway, as often happens when I am viewing one of your sojourns you brought back some happy memories of when Katie and Lucy were young enough to want to go on holiday with Grampy. The gnomes made me laugh. I thought they would like that but it turn out that " Gomes" as Kate called them were scary in her eyes and she stomped off in the other direction going " I hate flipping Gomes, I hate 'em" . Can't always get it right. Anyway you packed a lot into this weeks offering that's for sure. Hope you get your replacement camper dilemma sorted soon. Bruin out. 🐻

Another fantastic video from you both. We walked Tennyson Down and visited the Battery at The Needles when we camped on the Isle of Wight in Septmber 2019. We loved it. Well done for your really long walk. Ours was too, and we were exhausted after the circular walk of about 10 miles back to our campsite at Heathfield Farm. When I went down the spiral staircase at the Battery I had the place to myself, which was fantastic. Chris looked after Bateman, our GSP, and we then swapped. I noticed on your film, someone had taken their Parsons Jack Russel down the staircase, I was sure when we were there that it said "no dogs"!! The chair lift looks great fun, we would need to walk down as we couldn't take Bateman on that. We thoroughly enjoyed our close up view of The Needles from Waverley on 15th September this year, we had fantastic warm weather too, no mist, bright blue sky. Looking forward to Yarmouth next week, our favourite place on the island. Thanks Carol and Ken, good luck with your search for your next "home on wheels". 😀 xxxx

We did wonder how they had got the dog down that spiral staircase as it was so narrow. That must have been amazing sailing to the Needles on the Waverley. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

Hari OM Based on some of the stuff I saw down south (and starting to creep north), parking seems to be run by some kind of mafia now... Wow, what in interesting if not bracing day you both have enjoyed. We have had mixed weather for a few days, no point in even cutting lawns... temp about 6C (says feels more like -1C). Best stay in and share your Needles trip. Do you even take your own flask & cake for an afternoon tea, or just use cafes? Take care & stay safe. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜 PS: Agree about parking, here in Invercargill they have put in new digital meters everywhere, now have to walk about 5km from nearest free parking!!

Here's a silly touristy but sincere question: I noticed the divided walkway on the pier to the boat (17:24). In america we would use the right hand side to walk or line up. Would y'all use the left hand side as you do on the roads?

Hello Carol and Ken, I’m so glad you enjoyed your breakfast at The Captain’s Cabin, we’ve always had good food and good service there and in the Summer you get the added entertainment of watching people trying to moor their boats 😂. The Hut is very overpriced and along with the tender they provide a taxi service to and from the ferry at Yarmouth, they will collect you from the private airfield and for royalty and celebs they have a van with blacked out windows! The car park at Colwell does get full in the Summer months but many people park on the Common to avoid the charges. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the next video. 🍓🧶🌈💙
