Man I REALLY want a sci-fi game to have a character with a high tech Bec De Corbin. Imagine what you could do with that, it could be a combined, spear, 2 handed war pick, and a light construct hammer, and let you swap between all 3 with the same weapons. Heck maybe all 3 could be energy constructs and you could even let the spike fire energy. It could be the main weapon of a elite militaristic nation.

On seeing the weapon used to penetrate, the opponent is immobile and they're incredibly open. Big open baseball swings. I think worth a test would be frontal attacks. When they do the test to extra the Bec, he pretty much throws the Doll directly behind him into his allies. Then he has recovery time where he is open and the Doll's ally or more could strike. In a formation it would be hard to get those horizontal swings. So I would like to see these horizontal baseball swings where the Doll's "Side" is the target, as that should reduce the flat, unangled surfaces. Also coming from the sides also brings arms in as a factor. The hit will still cripple a man, but less fatal. Bec test #2: Overhead vs Helmets.

@Pangora2
@Pangora2 17 күн бұрын
@@1stCallipostle well it's fine if you take out one guy in combat, but if you're so open you die as well. There could be two or three guys now with the same weapon on the other side. Again, they attack from an angle to get a full swing, discount having to dedend or multiple opponents. If you do kill a guy a in a single swing, but die as a result the weapon wouldn't have been used. My claim is they're missing something

I love the back and forth competition, challenges, and attempts at "gentlemanly" trying to leverage their way in taking turns for what they want to do. I will say though, I think Nate needs to work on the timing of his swing and Tyranth on stepping in with his thrusts, include the attack with a full step (though maybe these guys know this). Still, that the beak of the weapon could sail through armor without 100% proper technique is very impressive.

For the average soldier at that time, I guess the length of it is about perfect, but a taller soldier with longer arms that is more common today, could for sure benefit from it being 50cm longer. Those 50cm will give more power and reach when wanted/needed. It would make a very nasty weapon even nastier. To bad the Vikings didn't invent and made this weapon at their time and used it to take all of Great Britain and crushed the Normans when they tried to take England. I am sure Great Britain and much of the world would have been better off if that happened 😁

By far the best weapon! Although yours doesn't but many of the polearm family have a metal stud or small spike on the other end. They are also a little longer. I prefer like yours sthe shorter length.

It's undoubtably good in the offence, but how's it go defensively given it eliminates the option of a shield? What weapon choice or combination would be most suitable to defeat it? Is your best chance to get up close, within the swing or stand back with a pike?

Imagine if it was a Fantasy setting and you made a "Bec DeCorbin" out of Mithril or other Magical Super Metal.
