Timeline placement also lends to the trend of releasing new games on the year they’re based in. At worst there is a variance of like two years unless it’s a game set earlier in the timeline than the mainline entry. 96 - 2000 RE1-CV all happen in 1998. RE0 which dropped in 2002 is an outlier 98’ game (but developed as an N64 game so it could have dropped in 1999-2000) but the other five games including Survivor all took place within 2 years of their respective release dates. RE4 - takes place in 2004 but released in 2005. RE5 - takes place in 2009, released in 2009 (Lost in Nightmares is 3 years prior in 2006 shortly after the events of Revelations) RE6 - set in 2012 & 2013, released in 2012. RE7 - set in 2017; released in 2017 RE8 - set in 2021; released in 2021 Any additional games come out at various points in the timeline. Remakes too also have to take place within the original game’s timeframe. I believe that Dead Aim (Gun Survivor 4: Heroes Never Doe) takes place in the same year it released…and there’s nothing to suggest it isn’t canon. So figured I’d give it a mention regardless. So with that…RE9 taking place 4 years later sets it in 2025 to coincide with its release date assuming it drops next year.

Jill and Leon combo? With Barry and Chris as supports? Let's gooo! BUT... 1. Not a huge fan of Winters saga. It was fun and all, but I wish that we could move on to either something new, or continue the stories of some classic characters that were mostly established during RE1-3 (maybe later). Some stuff with Becca or Barry would be really nice, and there's never enough of Claire or Jill. Man, I think even Sheva and Josh could have something interesting. Or Sherry and Jake, who knows? 2. Not a fan AT ALL of New Jill. Her character in RE3R and Dead Island felt like a completely different person compared to all her previous portrayals, including Revelations and RE5. New Jill is all "tough" and "angry" but that's not who Jill is. She's a very calm, supportive and kind person, that's who she's supposed to be. Man, her interactions with Parker and Josh were awesome. Oh, and that one dialogue with Chris in LiN RE5 DLC was really fun... And I liked her blonde look :P 3. I don't know how I feel about cultists. I mean, RE4 cultists were awesome and RE8 sadly didn't get enough of them... Yet I don't want CAPCOM to repeat themselves too much. I wish we could get some group like Veltro again. But the actual group this time. Like, alive and doing all the nasty shit, and them not being dead in some old sunk ship on the bottom of the ocean xD Anyway, can't wait for RE9! These leaks sound really interesting.

They only talk about story beats, some of which should be definitely not known by mere playtesters. They claim they playtested a certain area of the game, but somehow magically know all the other areas the game will feature. Meanwhile there's zero mention about the gameplay itself, not even if it's third person or first person. Not a word on combat, gunplay, not a mention of if there's dodging/parrying/blocking in the game, etc. These should be the very first things a playtester would have knowledge about. Bonus reason: cuck golem has already said the leak is fake. I hate the guy more than anyone else, but gotta admit he is probably the only public person who actually has legit insider info on RE.
