The only think I can compare this to is hot tubbing in the snow. My bestie & hubs have a time share and she invited me many many years ago to have a girls weekend in Squaw Valley/Tahoe/Truckee area where the Olympics were held in the 1960s. We were in a cute little chalet. It was snowing and so we put our swim suits on and then our ski suits on top and went to the outdoor hot tub. I think we had wine or chamgagne. I think it will accept a 85% charge in 50 minutes or in less than a hour - It's not a good idea to fast charge on a regular basis - it shortens the battery life - if your using a generator and are limited to fuel on hand then the one hour charge rate is very beneficial - Sail boats that cross the oceans often use the one hour charge rate to charge there house battery's once a day to converse fuel -

Some tipp for the outages: You could get a special wallplug installed to connect the Ecoflow to your houses powergrid (in Germany they are called Wieland Plugs - used for example for small solar power generators on a balcony). In case of a power outage disconnect your main breaker, plug the ecoflow "in your house" and your toilette and lights should be good for around 5+ hours. Maybe you can get Ecoflow to Sponsor another Video and send one of the big units just for the house. You are the first honest to god real usecase I have seen in all the EcoFlow Sponsorships ...

Just a tip for the EcoFlow. Great units but like mine, it has fans on the side of unit. If your moving it or packing it, put some painters tap over the fan vents until you use it. The only issue with EcoFlow is they need fans to keep the circuits cool. The problem is moisture( snow, rain ) plus electric circuits is BAD. I’ve found some painters tape will extent it’s life. Love your content, keep it coming.
@amyariffin2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip John. I'm thinking of buying one soon so this is useful info.
@JOHNSMITH-vd1ns2 жыл бұрын
@@amyariffin EcoFlow, after much research is currently the the leader in battery based generators, but with that crazy fast recharge rate comes a ton of heat. With todays tech, there is really no way to not have fans if you want those impressive numbers ( charge rate, discharge rates etc). My only two issues is the fan vents suck in snow, dust, etc with the air, so be aware. Also, it’s easy for debris or moisture to get in during storage/transport if the vents are not sealed ( painters tape works great). I would still buy it, even with everything I know now. Enjoy your unit.

Aren’t the boards conformal coated? And how have you discovered that the tape will extend the life? Did you have two and left the tape off one?
@JOHNSMITH-vd1ns2 жыл бұрын
@@SirHackaL0t. Hi, interesting questions. I have seen there is quality finned heat sinks on the circuit boards between the fans. With dirt and dust, I feel we both can agree will limit heat transfer and make it less efficient over time. During real world use, I noticed the units are pretty sealed up except the air intake and exhaust fan ports. If you are simply using this only in your home, then I would not take any further protection. But if your using this for camping, construction etc. $2 painters tape can prevent debris/insects during transport or storage. I have not scientifically tested this. But common sense shows less moisture, dust and debris will allow the machine to work at optimal for longer. Whether the boards are coated or not, I not sure. I expect some coating to be present but as I am not a electrician, I cannot speak on that fact.

@@sundownstudios502 the UP is so gorgeous. When my ex was training to be a state cop we were hoping to start out in the UP. Cecilia and Christopher look much more comfortable eating waffles outside in freezing weather than I would ever be! I’m in SW Michigan right by the lake and we get a lot of lake effect snow and I don’t mind that but freezing cold days I could do without. How cold do the winters tend to be in the UP? And do you hate being called a Yupper as much as I hate being called a Michigander? 😂

@@alloralou4722 haha you are a troll as you live under the bridge. Don’t mind being called a yooper, I’m from Kentucky. Our winters can be harsh as we get lake effect snow. Lows can easily dip single digits and below zero often. I’m just outside of Newberry. Snow average about 200 inches per year

@@sundownstudios502 well that’s a hell of a lot of snow! We probably get less than half of that. And I forgot we were called trolls! I love that! I’ve been over the bridge a few times and I love it. My ex and I also once went to Beaver Island in the early spring, before the ferry started running and took a plane there and back. The pilot allowed it to be packed full and we heard him say something about the plane having too much weight to fly but he got it into the air. I’ve flown over the Atlantic and the Pacific but that flight over the lake was the most beautiful. Also-before I knew her my ex’s grandma used to do the bridge walk, I think it was over Labor Day? She lived in northern Wisconsin and that was a beautiful area too. Kentucky to the UP? I’ve been to Kentucky also and always thought it was a gorgeous state.

Love your cozy life during polar night but I wouldn't last long before I was craving daylight and sunshine. Do you plan on going to see your parents part way through? Love it when Christoffer makes something. Those waffles, simple to make, looked delish. Of course can't leave gorgeous Grim out. Such a happy dog when you are out with him. 🥰

I'll have to try that recipe out, seems to be a crispier version than the ones requiring the egg whites whipped until fluffy.

I love the magic and beliefs connected to the auroras, it makes watching them even more special. Direct translation for "revontulet" is "fox fires" and one of the beliefs is that auroras listen to you so you should stay quiet when they are blazing across the sky, especially avoiding singing or whistling. The Sami people have pictures of auroras on their witch drums as they have been told to have special powers when it come to solving problems and arguments. And the list goes on and on, changing from country to country.

So nice to see another video this week, Cecilia! This EcoFlow is a lifesaver in these situations. Luckily, we don't often have power outages here, but I can imagine it's useful for traveling (by car) to remote places as well. 😃

Christopher has changed waffles forever! Wow that looks so incredibly good! I wonder how many people get hungry watching you and Christopher eating in your videos? Enjoyed this so much, you make the Polar Night magical, I wonder how many people actually go there after seeing your videos? Keep up the great work! And thank you to Christopher demonstrating Svalbard cuisine!

@@cb.1212 Check any local cheese specific places (this is where I get mine, but I'm in Canada so it may differ!), the more high end grocery stores may carry them, or Amazon might offer it! It's usually not the cheapest thing out there, though!

Just wanted to say thank you. Your videos about getting vitamin D levels tested prompted me to do the same (I live in Scotland). And now I have a prescription for vitamin D tablets because mine was very low. 💙
@MsPeabody12312 жыл бұрын
Be careful as many UK doctors don't prescribe enough. I had a severe deficiency just over 10 years ago and it was only my own research with the help of an MS sufferer who alerted me to this. I then found my then new partner, friends, acquaintances, and strangers from around the UK were not being told to take sufficient amounts.
