The webbing should be cheaper than ordinary net because there is half the plastic in it, it will be good to hear feedback from your clients, and it would be good to see on a ordinary baler and a static wrapper on the yard how they hold together from the time you bale it and wrap it. I'll ask for a price on them in March see how it compares to Normal netting, and I might try a roll.

I agree, it would need to get cheaper, cos there's a lot less product in the roll

Would like to see it on dry silage bales, to see how much moulding would be on the bales ,I can't see how it would be as good as cling film , very clever of you to use on wet bales as there will be no moulding on the bales

Be interesting to see how this system works for independent baler and wrapper systems. Will it have the same issues as the NRF on Mchale f5600 balers where bales can tend to bust or loose shape if they hit the ground. How will this net hold up even for transporting un wrapped bales.

Like your man said, ideally you would like to be putting it on a bale from a combi baler . We use a combi for our silage so it would be a great help for us as we use a tanco bale shear and it would make life easier.

Hi Phil. I'll be very interested in trying this product on my Lely Tornado combi next year. Question I have for you is, How many bales did you get out of the roll and how many revolutions did you set the baler when using the webbing.
@FARMERPHIL3690
@FARMERPHIL3690 Жыл бұрын
To my understanding you’ll get the same number of bales out of it as they’re standard roll as it’s the same length. The reason it looks so smaller is it’s layered onto the roll. I put it on the same lenght as ordinary net as I was told it’ll do the same job but I haven’t tested out the carrying capacity out of the wrap to know whether it’s enough
@davidflynn9609
@davidflynn9609 Жыл бұрын
@FARMERPHIL3690 Thanks very much for the reply. Yes it's because I saw the size of the roll, was why I asked the question. I'll be looking forward to trying it out anyway. Sorting out the net from the wrap is not a nice job...

Innovation typically comes in baby steps with the occasional eureka moment discovery. This is a 'baby step' innovative idea and most certainly seems to save a lot of time not having to separate two sets of waste after they have served their purpose. I don't really buy the idea that it is 'recyclable' though - sounds a bit like corporate green washing to be honest. Still, improvements are improvements and I think this is probably an improvement. What probably needs to happen is that someone comes out with a truly innovative baler that somehow keeps the form of the bale without the 'string' and uses only the wrap to keep it together. Obviously, the wrap itself would need to be stronger or the way it wraps needs to be changed, so whilst it sounds easy, it is quite a complex thing to do. Eliminating one step in the baling process would make the combination baler potentially lighter and/or eliminate the need for a separate wrapper. That in itself would probably speed up the baling process. Some are criticising Phil for advertising, but I disagree. It is good to see what innovation is being made and feedback from someone might be the hint that a company needs to make an even better product.

Kuhn have already managed to make a baler that uses wrap only. It uses 2 750mm rolls of wrap to tie the bale then wraps it as normal 2 more rolls

@@Rmac-eb2zb I have been using Piippo net from Finland. Had few Tama and unknown named rolls and they stretched more in length. Done tight bales and with some hay they go bigger when released from baler. Piippo net seems to hold better and it means less wraps per bale. Tama was cheaper per roll
