The porch looks great. Maybe think about planting a native wildflower patch in that circle instead of sod. It will look pretty and the butterflies and bees will love it!

You might want to mark, on the floor, all of the electrical receptacles and A/C vents. Drywall guys move fast and have been known to cover things up...

I don't think the blue plastic boxes are rated for surface mounting so you might have to switch to the metal boxes that are to pass an inspection. A switched outlet or outlets to a timer box on the porch can be useful if you setup decorative lights under or around the porch. Can you use the Wago style lever wire nuts for electrical there or do you have to use the twist style wire nuts? They make changing out things very easy as you don't need to redo the entire bundle of wire in a cramped box. If you are looking for something temporary to keep the ground in place that isn't going to require mowing pickup a bag or two of clover deer feed patch seed to spread on the areas. You get a nice clover ground cover to lock the soil into place and food for the bees when the cover flowers and the deer will wonder out of the woods to feed on it. Clover is also great for chickens as they love the stuff. Easy to put in without much work and if you want to switch to a lawn later it has been adding nitrogen to the soil the entire time it has been growing.

Be sure to reintroduce Red Wiggler Worms into the grassy areas around your house. The RWW's are great for revitalizing new construction site soils.They dig 12'-18' down and bring trace minerals to the surface for plants & trees, aerate the compacted soil, fertilize the surface (worms don't poo where they dig & live), multiple at an unbelievable rate and will be the hardest workers that you ever have on your Homestead. I used about one cup per 12' x 12' area to reestablish the areas on either side of my new driveway, the grass is beautiful and healthy without chemical fertilizers within the first year. P.S. I customized my grass seed for quick cover with Annual seed, Perennial for long term grass growth and Clover for future Honey bees and soil nitrogen revitalisation. This is the Seed in my mix which I put down heavy before the Spring bird migration and the day before a two day rainstorm the end of March in Ohio. April Showers bring May Flowers, but also lazy landscapers that don't like to water or use straw to retain moisture for new grass seeding jobs. We've been in our ICF house just over 3 years now - Love It! The only 'problem' is that it is so well insulated that the outside temp has to be below 50F or the wood stove produces too much heat at its lowest burnrate with a small fire in it. I wish I'd known about the LED wafer lights when we built. I'd have used them for most of the house.

Happy to see the progress you're making. You may want to consider allowing for overhead lighting in the porch overhangs. We did a large covered deck and have both door sidelights and overhead pots lights. We we almost exclusively use the pot lights. The overhead lighting spreads better and is easier on the eyes being above rather than off to the side. Just thought I'd mention before you get to siding in case you have to add wiring. I imagine you could just snake some wires up the foam if need be. Bet you can't wait for the build to end;)

Suggestion, if you polish and seal the deck, it might be good to texture it with something like sand. It will be slick when wet and the grit could help folks from busting their bunz with a slip and fall. There I added my useless two cents.

It's a penetrating sealer. I had the same concern but it didn't make it too slick as the broom texture is still there.

Good morning from New Hampshire. House build looking good! Dry wall is a BEAR! We are older and went with a modular to avoid the "whole thing!". Very happy to move into a mostly finished abode. We are adding our porch this year. Naturally the price of lumber is high. We have stunning views like yours up at the main farm. They come with a state view tax. So we chose to build deep in the woods, but the farm gardens are on top of the ridge, so I can enjoy those views, while watching the boys hay. All the best to complete your house project!

The Lithonia pancake lights are pretty awesome. I put a set of those in my kitchen. I found a couple of the wagos ended up failing on me after a few months (open circuit) and I ended up replacing them with marettes. Not a huge deal, but you may want to be able to pull the boxes out of the holes for service.

Hey, If you want to try to make your porch post invisible cover them with mirrors either plastic or glass and it will be hard to see them, It works amazing and they will blend in to where you live. Well worth a try.

While you have everything open, you should consider installing corrugated piping between floors and rooms that are empty for future running low voltage wiring like network cables, Satellite TV cables, intercom cables, security cables (sensory & cameras), and who knows what they will come up with next. It is very easy and cheap to do this while the building is being made. You don't even need to buy one cable, but if you try to do this later. You never know what you might hit., like power, gas, AC lines. If that happens you might be replacing tens of thousands of dollars of equipment or burning down a house. Here in German, Brick houses are built on an offset method. Meaning that the first floor's exterior wall has the thickest walls, the second floor is a little thinner so the floor partially rests on top of the first floor's exterior wall and so on with each floor. Commercial buildings have more fire standards, so this is not done with them. THIS makes it very hard to aim correctly and actual small brick houses shift and twist over time. Germans even though long steel rods through old houses to squeeze them to stabilize the building. Long story short, I was drilling nowhere near where I wanted to be, but I didn't hit anything at these. I Could have very easily with four 220V power lines within about 6 inches of where I was drilling. Sorry, I haven't been watching your videos lately, so I am a little later on my advice. PS new building fire code for even homes might require fire-rated tubing and fire pudding penetrations. From the look of your construction, I doubt you will have to do anything. Pro-tip on pre-installing tubing for future wire runs. Plug or cap the tubes when finished. This will prevent bugs and rodents from easily using them. If you glue a cap onto the tube. Make sure to make the tube a little longer to cut off the cap later.

As a residential electrician who has put in 1000s of lights. I think 3000k is a better 4000k, most of our customers prefer 2700k. When you put in your modules use a hole saw with a dust bowl. Cuts down on the drywall dust and much easier then hand cutting them in.

That is a long run between outlets on the exterior. They are always adding 'must haves' for outdoor use so you can't have enough!

Good morning, the wafers are sold in a 10 watt and 14watt output. If you purchased both, each wafer is powered by its designated driver. Do not mix in the ceiling.

@@Guildbrookfarm good. i prepped my window bucks with Rub R Wall but wanted something after. was thinking more Rub R Wall but if tape sticks then ill use that! less mess. whats your black paint you used?

Just make sure it goes on clean foam. Once the sun starts beating on the foam it gets dusty and nothing sticks to it so you have to rub it down with a scuff pad. I used Liquid Rubber over all the weird seams, cracks and penetrations. It works great.

@@Guildbrookfarm yeah thats was Rub R Wall is. theres a mastic for big cracks and the paint for the rest. fingers crossed the tape sticks to the paint and the foam where the paint isnt. we have almost 100% shade so after 6 months now theres been no yellowing etc which is nice.
