What really disappointed me about this episode is that the crisis is solved almost as soon as it occurs. The three Datas is a chance to do something interesting, but the correct Data immediately identifies himself (how does he know?). 'Time Squared' in season 2 is similar. Great concept that just sort of ends.....and I do know what the original explanation for that time travel paradox was. It took a few seasons for TNG to start delivering on the basic SF plots.
