Great video! The exact point of the song is about not living as someone afraid. A "chameleon," as Boy George referred to, is someone who hides all the time and denies their true self. However, karma will always expose their true selves, so you mine as well live truly to yourself in the present before it's forced out. The song was about Boy George's secret gay romance with Culture Club's drummer, and Boy George wanted him to be more open about it. That is why he wrote this song. The lyrics "you come and go" encapsulate this perfectly.

Culture Club was the quintessential 80's band...Completely unique with more than a few classic songs jammed into their relatively short career...Their ace in the hole was, of course, Boy George...When the song "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" came out, we just couldn't quite figure out what to make of him...The make-up and the clothes made you blink a few times, but his unmistakable voice was awesome and was what made the group special...

Boy George continued to record with culture club a few more years, then went solo. hHe is a judge on a music talent show I just love him, everything about him to his style and Chrisma and his amazing attitude, hes just a beautiful person....I enjoyed listening to him in the 80s and 90s.
