The Band named themselves that after seeing a band called Pretty Boy Floyd, and being the exact opposite of that! Lol

That's only part of the story. The band did not have a real solid name yet but they were set to open a show for Pretty Boy Floyd. Since their music is definitely different and PBF was really fancy-schmancy at the time, they went for an opposite, 'generic word' sort of motif. :D

UKJ is still around and touring. They toured the U.S. for the first time in a LOOONG TIME last year. I got to meet Whit and Klaus(singer and guitarist) and they were awesome and live? One of the best shows of 2023> Whit still has an awesome voice and they all just rock. Also, their latest album "Rad wings of Destiny" is great.

I met them at a meet and greet many years ago. The name Ugly Kid Joe is a spoof on the band Pretty Boy Floyd ... just double checked on Wiki and it does confirm that. These guys were ALL about makeing hard rock metal fun back in the day.

First time I heard that Puddle of Mudd song I was on a little road trip with a friend of mine ho had just ended his relationship. Neither side really did anything bad, but it wasn't an amicable breakup- I just put on a playlist of punk songs, but when the chorus came up I just looked at him to see his reaction and we both laughed and started singing along! The breakup may have been bad, but that's just funny!
