@ryangainey94Күн бұрын
I think I'm missing something about the Rootwalla combo. If you play a mountain then a Burning Inquiry, you only have 2 other cards so you discard your whole hand, meaning you don't have a forest to pump the Rootwalla. And if you go second in the mirror matchup, your opponent is always guaranteed to discard at least one of your two lands. So at no point do you have 2 mana to pump the Rootwalla... Why even run 2 lands in the first place? Wouldn't it make more sense to run one land, one burning inquiry, and 2 Rootwallas? At no point is it possible to play the second land, so what am I missing?
@eel1727Күн бұрын
If you go second in a non mirror matchup, you can avoid playing inquiry until you have two lands out, which forces a draw against goblins because they can't attack well. Then you go to game 2 going first, which should win you the match
@ichVIIКүн бұрын
Maybe if you go second and your opponent dumps their entire hand on turn 1, you go with two lands instead? Im not sure either.
@FernandoGonzalez-hu3idКүн бұрын
If you go first, an go Mountain Into Burning Inquiry, you get a free (madness) Rootwalla, while your oponent looses 75% of their hand, at that point your oponent is unlikely to play any creatures so you do not need to pump the rootwalla to win If you Go second you play both of the lands first then you play the burning inquiry and the free rootwalla hoping a 3/3 is good enought to stop their plan.

You would have done pretty well :) given how well the troll players did here

I think the Foil deck would have to be the best one here, since I don't think it's possible to lose, only to tie at worst.

@@GeoQuag Ties? Foil, gut shot, and rootwalla all trade 1 for 1. you'd need a 2 toughness creature to not trade with the rootwalla/gut shot

5:22 technically that a forced draw shoulda found new opponents.
@CardmarketMagic22 сағат бұрын
That would have been an organizational nightmare 😅 it's much cleaner to have people who draw both lose, or the room would just be full of people getting up to pair again and again as everyone else has to wait each round :)

@@CardmarketMagic Ah i was under the impression that tomer said he lost and the other guy won. Yeah draws being double loses makes sense.

I would love to do this but my lack of deck buidling skill limits me so greatly well i guess just all lightning bolt would work

Why would you build refurbished familiar if theres no way to cast it turn 1?

How did Tomer lose? He could have either won the damage race or double blocked and had a 1/1 up with an opponent who has no cards in hand…
@DontUseHackКүн бұрын
Neither player ever attacks. He cant win.

The opponent will never attack into 2 untapped goblins so he can never double block. If Tomer attacks, the opponent takes two damage and he loses a goblin. The opponent would then hold back again, if he attacks again he loses the second goblin and now its 17 life with a 2/2 vs 20 life with a 1/1. Obviously Tomer loses here. If Tomer doesn't attack, the opponent also doesn't attack, this repeats forever drawing the game. The first player to attack loses so neither player ever attacks.

Couldn't the three squirrels block the goblin to kill it and you have a remaining squirrel? Well, I guess it would be a tie

Troll player could have gone further if he had used Generous Ent or Imposing Vantasaur instead, eh, I was rooting for you)
@sonnilowe8858Күн бұрын
It's interesting, because the Ent or Saur loses in the mirror to Troll. Probably why the Trolls players went with Troll, they were thinking more about how they'd beat their own deck.
