Oh now that would be useful! The only thing is that microbes would still be on the door knob even after it stopped being warm from someone touching it with dirty hands (everyone has to take out the trash sometime). I just run with assumption that all door knobs are filthy so I keep that in mind especially when I have to touch one that's not in my house (and even if it is in my house) and then I just hope that my immune system can cope with any care I didn't take to keep microbes off of my hands. The good news is that most microbes are relatively harmless and it's more the notion of them that is disgusting but then there are some that can kill people so... In any case, all I can say is that I ran an experiment with a petri dish in biology and it was the door knob to the lab that was the dirtiest when compared with the inside of the toilet, the faucet handles in the bathroom, and the bathroom door handle so everyone please wash your hands before leaving lab (and probably also afterwards since obviously people aren't washing their hands before they leave lab).
