We made this 70s AIRSTREAM 1000x BETTER!

Take a tour of our 1973 Airstream! This vintage airstream has been newly restored from the ground up! We are Meghan & Matt and for the past 14 months, we have been working hard to restore this airstream from 1973 to turn it into our full time home. This airstream is a boondocking capable, off grid powerhouse with all solar electric and a completely reimagined layout that (dare we say) is better than the original 70s version.
We found this 23ft Airstream Land Yacht Safari for $9k in pretty unlivable condition. Needless to say, it needed a full rehab so we got to work turning this old trailer into a beautiful home.

OUR STORY
We’re Meghan & Matt, a couple from the Northeast USA who loves all things travel, cooking, adventuring, and tiny home living. In 2021 we built out a campervan, sold all our stuff, and hit the road full time. We caught the travel bug HARD, and eventually sold our beloved van to travel internationally for 5 months. During our time abroad we dreamt up another crazy idea to restore a vintage airstream into our new tiny house on wheels. Thanks! I sealed up every single hole in the belly pan that we saw. For larger holes I used aluminum sheets and rivets and smaller holes I used silver HVAC tape. We used rockwool insulation in the belly pan and allegedly mice don’t like that

thank you! This is the cuddy by compocloset. It cheaply made of flimsy plastic. It has some significant design flaws with the location of its electrical connections. The pee tank sensors broke in just a couple weeks. It's uncomfortable to sit on. Not easy to clean. The agitator flings the compost material everywhere and makes a mess. The condensation is unreal, and despite their marketing claiming it does not need to be vented, it absolutely does. That's our short list of problems with it and we're looking for a replacement when the budget allows.

we made sure to buy a trailer from someone who had the title. It took looking at a few different trailers to find one. Your state's DMV should have some insight what to do to register an old trailer
