Hi Brian, Kazza and Sierra. I love your videos and have been watching since the stormy sail to Madascar. I watch the early pre-dawn hours with coffee in the cockpit, the hours of sailing, the joy and the misery. I only wish I could hear the soft wash of the water against the hull, the birds in the trees, the wind in the rigging. That takes me back to my days sailing to Catalina Island. But alas, I have to miss those comforting sounds because of the droning music in the foreground of the videos. I'm sure there are people who watch that insist the music helps them to appreciate the videos more, I'm just not one of them. So forgive me if I have to send a negative thought. I do love watching you and your loving family and appreciate the effort it must take to make everyone happy. Looking forward to many more in the building of your new Delos 2 cat and the many, many more miles of sailing. Sharon Maruca

I have been thinking the same thing. This may sound stupid but I think that many of us has a relation to the boat. We've only seen it on KZbin, and it's not ours in any way, but we are still attached to it for better or worse. I hope Brady and Blu can have a go with Delos.

Hi guys, I have been watching you for 4 years. While I don’t aspire to sail you have taught me that worries of life can wait. The other day I was like should I go to the pool first or deal with paying bills and cleaning the house. You were deciding to fix something or go for a walk on the beach first. You opt to walk the beach and I opted to go to the pool. Thank you for teaching me more than sailing but smelling the roses should be a priority. Love you guys!

Quick tip on reeling in tuna, which tend to swim in a spiral as you bring them in. Keep the boat moving forward at a couple knots. Just enough to keep the fish behind the boat. That will keep them out of the rudder/prop and whatnot under the boat. You want them dragging on the surface to allow a relatively easy gaff and the forward motion of the boat will help wear them out and bring them to the surface. Love the vid, as always!

Pretty obvious from the footage that they stopped the boat. Back wind the head sail and you will certainly start going backwards.

With your new boat I have had an idea. I know you are keen to get a lot of roof space. And understand all of the benefits. I sailed for years and the ability to sit outside most days in shade is a massive win. Have you thought about making it long enough to shade your tender if on rear and hoist the tender up on without additional rear arms. I was also thinking of a slide out solar array. Imagine 4 or 5 400w panels on a slide that come out from the rear or an array either side that slides out. The benefits of no shading could be a real winner and retract into the above roof space when on the move or weather does not permit. Excited about your new cat. Also would keep your dinghy in full shade and simplify retrieval. Cheers

Regarding fishing, you really only need to have the clicker in the 'on' position if you're trolling and not paying full attention to the rod/reel. Once the clicker makes noise, indicating a fish is on, and once you're sure the hook is set, turn the clicker off. Leaving it on during the ensuing battle accomplishes nothing, however, it will eventually cause the gear that causes the click to wear out prematurely. As for setting the drag properly (which is a different thing than turning on the clicker), you cannot, especially over the course of a long fight, crank the drag way down with a large fish on and expect that the line won't break eventually...unless possibly, you're fishing with very heavy line or wire. Seldom will you be able to horse a big fish up solely with a tight drag set, unless maybe it's foul hooked. It's also not great for you, the fish, and the equipment. But with proper technique, which is to say - - "repeatedly pull up with the rod and then reel down, pull up and reel down" - - you'll land a lot more fish.

Brian, You are in love with the lines of Delos... Stick with a mono-hull. You will regret changing to a cat... and your channel won't be the same. You can certainly find a design and build it with the specs and requirements you've assembled with Karen. Delos 2 should be a mono-hull. IMHO. Hugs from Vietnam.

I moved to the mountains to escape hurricanes and tornados. Then, two years ago, winds exceeded 115 mph and ripped half the shingles off my roof! Add to that broken pipes due to sub -20 temps and high winds on two separate occasions... "We've been losing a lot, lately." Hmm... Time for stronger steel leads? Fantastic panoramas!

Hey Brian! I realize that you are very capable and probably figured this out already but...... If I can be helpful to you guys that would make me happy. I was a Marine Tech for over thirty years and have fixed a lot of recoil starters. My observation over the years is that the type of failure you are having is often caused by the Capt. being a bit too far from the engine when pulling it and that bottoms out the cord to the point that it jumps out of the track and binds in the mechanism. I hope this does not sound insulting to you but I have helped many of my customers by demonstrating getting a little closer to the engine and not pulling it out too far and that usually prevents reoccurence. Peace.
