Join us for another episode of JDM Masters RAW as we check out the famous tourist spot of Hakone Turnpike, a special toll road known for it breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi and also home to one of the most iconic Touge or winding roads in Japan. The carpark on the summit of Mt. Taikan is the location of car enthusiasts that also love driving their sports and high performance cars. Like Daikoku Parking Area in Yokohama, the weekends are always filled with a variety of cars both Japanese and imported. Here we can see everything from commuter cars of tourists to tuned JDMs and even rare supercars.
On this particular day we encountered a gentleman with a now very rare and valuable 1972 Prince designed Nissan Skyline GT-R KPGC10 2 door coupe. He has owned the car for over 28 years and fully restored it to almost showroom driving standard. Known as the `Hakosuka GT-R`, this was the first Skyline to bear the now famous GT-R badge that started a legend. Many Japanese people know the name of GT-R and the older folk will always cherish the Hakosuka in their hearts.
Due to its rarity and dwindling numbers, the KPGC10 is now valued at approximately 40 million yen for very good examples.
In this episode we also show you the unique Japanese toy called `Gacha gacha`also known as capsule toys that are known for lovable miniature replicas of various collector and fan items.
