I moved to Perth 41 years ago from Kent. Best move I ever made with family and two teenage kids. Perth has the best climate in Australia. The most sunshine open free clean air space with higher rainfall than London mostly falls in winter with the lowest winter day temperature of 12 degrees. The sun shines nine months of the year almost continuously. The kids grew up had their own house in their 20's and found it difficult writing back to their friends in England and couldn't describe their life here as it sounded as they were boasting. Australian people are now recorded as the wealthiest people in the world largely due to the prosperity of the country. We have been covid free for 300 days and life is as near normal as possible. I went back in 94 and was bitterly disappointed with England the air was dank and polluted the sun shone a dull yellow through a humid polluted sky. There are hundreds and thousands of people in Western Australia who have come from the old country and once settled which takes at least 5 years never want to go back. To what! And why would you? PS. If you are a motorcyclist WA is a dream place to ride as the weather is so kind. My Dad moved here in his seventies as the winters in England were killing him. He ended up living 2 days short of 100 very healthily. The hospitals and the health care system is second to none here. Most of the 2.5 million people in Western Australia come from somewhere making it a very diverse community. Here in the West, many Americans say, Perth is California but much better we even have Freeways, not Motorways.

The head of my family "Mr George Stedman Watts" was the artist commissioned to design the common seal for Western Australia back in 1867. He then carried on as a farmer in a farm community he founded called Wandering. Tracking horses he lost on a hunt. He found them 4 days later wandering in a valley he made claim too, as his land claim. Australia is rich with history from the UK, you will find in all cities.

There are pet relocation companies. Try googling some Canadian ones. We didn't have dogs when we moved, so are not entirely sure of the process. Would love to hear how you go though, as we get asked alot 🐾

Was adjusting to the wild life - spiders, sharks, snakes etc. hard? that’s the biggest thing holding me back from visiting...!
@TheBAMFamalam3 жыл бұрын
Haha thankfully we have barely seen anything like that! We have had a few huntsman spiders in our home - they are big and scary looking but don’t cause any harm. The first time we had one though, we didn’t know that! Ben was trying to catch it with a Tupperware tub, which was when we discovered that they jump! Ben was frantically trying to catch the jumping ‘monster’, while I was crying with laughter on the other side of the room 🤣🤣 Honestly though, I wouldn’t let it hold you back, it really isn’t a problem 💕

Tell you what, I’ve been to OZ two years in a row and I haven’t been bugged. Been to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Queensland, Melbourne and lived in Sydney and I still have to see a bug. LOL. There’s more in LA and San Fo where I lived for more than 15 years, but definitely none in Indiana where I lived for 20 years. Now, I live in an island in the Philippines mostly and here i see all sorts of bugs, There’s more to life than to be afraid of bugs. Virus. Yeah, those are bummers.

Hi, me and my fiance are 21 and we have got a 4 month old son. We have been speaking about the idea of moving and it seems to be getting more and more appealing. What I want to know is, would we need a large chunk of money to emigrate (40-60k) and how easy is it to find a job? Thank you
@TheBAMFamalam3 жыл бұрын
We know people that have brought a lot of money over and we know plenty that came with barely anything. The major costs will be your visas, flights and new set up costs (such as cars, furniture etc), you will also need money to keep you going until you find work and get paid. With regards to finding work here, it's just a case of really putting yourself out there, and if you need work quickly, then you need to be willing to accept anything, until you can find the role you want. Even minimum wage here is pretty high, so any kind of work will cover your outgoings if you are sensible about it ❤️🇦🇺

Thank you for making this video. I am married, we have 2 daughters. My husband and I are both 28 and seriously thinking about making the move. Where is it you guys live? Was it easy getting your kids registered into school? My eldest (5) is autistic so I have already thought about possibly homeschooling the girls as I used to work in a SEN Section of a primary school before having children.
@TheBAMFamalam3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much for watching! It is no problem getting into school where we are, as you live in a catchment area, the school are required to accept you if you live in that area. Hopefully the school would be able to support your daughter's needs, so that you have a choice. From what I've seen, the school's cater well for all children xx
