Awww...you poor things! There are some days my "rustico" life in a small pueblo in Mexico gets so vexxing & I wonder what the hell I was thinking. Then something amazing happens, things get fixed, my view & life in general is just so beautiful and I forget about it for another day. I'm pretty sure I will not always live here forever so I'm enjoying everything now because it is a remarkable experience but I completely get your frustration. I am writing to thank you for the informative and entertaining Positano Diaries videos we have been enjoying for the last year, since your videos started popping up on my KZbin feed as we began planning for our upcoming travels to Italy. My wife and I plan to spend the entire month of June of 2024 traveling from Milan and Lake Como to Amalfi, with most of our travels spent exploring around the Bay of Naples, including stays in Sorrento, Ischia and the Amalfi Coast (along with time spent in Florence and Rome). We have appreciated your videos for providing an enticing but realistic view of what it is really like living in Positano and the Amalfi Coast, warts and all (Sublime views as part of a vertical life involving multitudinous steps). We enjoy seeing your experience of visiting many of both the well-known and the off-the-beaten-path places, and learning about practical travel info like when to take the ferry and when it might be a good idea to rent a scooter, and whether we really want to try to walk from Ravello back to Amalfi or venture onto the Path of the Gods. For me, your videos have the effect of de-glamourizing the places you visit--shots of a dreary, deserted Positano on a cold, wet November or December day with the wooden boats pulled out of the water up into the restaurant outdoor seating areas will do that. Because of your videos of your family life on the Amalfi Coast, when the time comes when our travels take us there we will have more confidence and will have a better plan for what we want to do and where we want to visit. I think Createspace... a company in the USA, can function as print on demand if you want that choice and then you won't have to print the books or ship them in USA b/c it's drop shipped. This is how I live 6-7 months out of the year in Vermont, USA. Some people don't understand when you tell them you can't go some place because you can't get up or down the mountain, until they see it for themselves...lol. This is the area of Italy we will be looking at when we finally move back to Italy. The snow and ice can get exhausting at times, but not as exhausting as dealing with extreme heat, for us. I say this just as we're getting through a record breaking blizzard, and no wifi for a few days. But, that's better than no power...lol. But still, for us, it's better than oppressive heat. Which translates to anything above 22C...lol! You get so used to the snow and cold coats don't always get put on for a quick romp with the dogs outside. Lovely to see Holly and Indy enjoying it as much as mine do. Merry Christmas to all, and thank you for sharing your videos with all of us!

I loved this video. So many things to comment on. First, I loved Nicki's show of vulnerability, dealing with her extreme frustration in loading the car, the bad weather, and all the hoops they had to jump through to get to Luca and Sarah. The expression on Carlo's face during Nicki's painful rant was priceless. "How do you insult our beautiful, complicated life on a Positano mountainside, after you've produced a successful KZbin Channel depicting that life?" On the other hand, the life in Positano is complicated and challenging, especially when the weather is AWFUL, so Nicki is within her rights to HATE it when it affects her happiness and comfort. These moments of extreme frustration pass as the weather changes. I love Carlo's dealing with the snow (and the dog's, too). I know many New Yorkers who have never driven in snow. I grew up in the north with severe winters. I learned at an early age how to deal with slippery roads. Sometimes, you have to be VERY careful. I loved watching you tackle the new challenges and succeeding. Merry Christmas!

Wonderful video. What an adventure you had on your road trip. From making the puppies raincoats out of garbage bags, been there done that, to ending up in what looked like 8 inches of snow, at least. I can’t even imagine never seeing snow and then seeing so much of it while also trying to drive in it for the first time. You’re a brave man Carlo. You'll have to start earlier next year, say: December 15 to avoid this hazardous driving situation. I usually carry an extra towel or clean rags when traveling with the dogs & some extra knitted jackets for them. They love it when I put something dry on their back. Enjoy seeing you both. I don't understand people's aversion to snow. I grew up in the Seattle area and I adore the snow. I love driving in the snow, I love walking the dog in the snow, I love sledding, snow skiing. All of it! it's so magical and beautiful and quiet.

Merry Christmas! Snow brings the beauty of stillness and silence as well as that interesting crunch sound Carlos mentioned. I think the snow must be quite dry or the air very cold to hear it. A lot of snow doesn't make any noise at all which adds to the quiet.
