“For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 ESV

Hi Becca, I said yes. We are supposed to walk more "upright ", like God, but obviously we often fall short so we need to ask the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins daily, so we can repent before Jesus. We also need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us better so the enemy can't always lead us to commit the same sin over & over again.

Seriously, I'm tearing up right now because of just how amazing God is. This video came at the right time. 12:40, where you talked about your struggles with pride resonated with me. It was something I didn't even know I was dealing with. I've battled with it, yet I didn't even know what exactly it was, yet I've dealt with it for YEARS. Now I think I have a better idea of what to pray for, or to ask forgiveness for. I do sometimes fall into the habit of thinking about myself and worrying about what others think of me when it never even mattered. I can't do anything with my own strength alone. I'm also tearing up because I feel some form of a release... I've constantly been feeling a bit apprehensive because of the future in regards to college. The fall semester begins this September, and I've been fearing I wasn't ready, yet I know that God has his hand on this, and I can rely on him to be the same God for all eternity... The feeling is hard to explain, but I feel as if there's no reason to fear, even when my head (flesh??) is desperately trying to find something to latch onto... but it feels like it has nothing to entertain. I only discovered you last year... and I'm glad I did... I feel like I've grown so much since then. As soon as this video popped up in my feed, I h a d to click on it. You brought up so many points that I desperately need to remember/get into my spirit and pray about, so I feel like this video is going to be something I'll be revisiting often. I hope to grow stronger as a woman in Christ in the next coming days... I don't know what else to say, but I thank God for him being here for us to talk to, and I thank God for your existence. I get excited whenever I see your face in my subscription feed. 💕 (you look really nice by the way-)

This topic is a widely discussed topic in my Christian circles (church, my Christian college, and friends). It's important to remember that it is okay for the answer to be "yes and no". Hi Becca, I knew about the 400 years of silence, but I never thought about it showing us that we aren't God, so thanks for explaining that.💡😄 I recently read Jeremiah and also found that the false prophets telling the people that they won't be exiled to Babylon related to today with people leaving out the sin and punishment aspect of the Gospel. The Gospel is pointless if we act as if we ourselves are God, because we won't admit that we need Jesus to save us.

Excellent video, you have a gift of teaching for sure! I'm not sure if you will see this comment but I am curious on your opinion about one of Gods qualities; Justice. Do you think Christians should imitate this trait of God? In the OT people were put to death for things like adultery (Leviticus 20:10) But in the NT Jesus showed Mercy to the adulterer (john 8). So, my question is, is it acceptable for a Christian to be a police officer? Is it acceptable for a Christian to vote? Surely we have some form of justice within the church ( 1 Corinthians 5) Naturally we don't kill people who are caught in adultery. But we do practice church discipline. So were do we draw the line in our imitation of Gods justice? I am genuinely curious what you think, thanks in advance if you respond

Hey, I totally get that! I have a couple tips that might help. 1) Jesus was perfect in our place, we never have to worry if we can remember everything perfectly. 2) there is so much to learn about God and the Bible which means that there are sooo many ways to grow closer to him. 3) remembering everything all at once seems stressful, so I try to think of it as rediscovering truths. I get to learn again stuff about God over and over again. 4) everyone has different talents/abilities. Some people can learn doctrinal truths easily, others are empathetic, some people can teach. Maybe yours isn't remebring ever Bible fact/truth, but you still have them in your heart and are blessed with so many other gifts. As you said trying to remeber can be stressful, but thats like learning any subject. You get better over time. While you might never be perfect at it, one day you will be in heaven and you can ask God all your questions there! Hope this helped a bit :)
@FarAwayDistance3 жыл бұрын
To echo Maggie's wise response, I totally understand where you are coming from! I can relate for sure. Know and rest assured we are NOT saved by our Bible knowledge, but on Jesus' work on the cross and the cross alone. When we are Christians, we will naturally hunger for more of God and the Bible, so we will open it up and read it, but we are NOT saved by reading it. We also have a lifetime to learn more about God and the Bible, we do not have to memorize it and understand every verse the day we get saved. Again, it'll come naturally to us to want to read the Bible and to memorize it, but we are NOT saved from memorizing it. We can literally read the Bible every single day for the rest of our lives and learn something new from it every time because the Bible is living and active, and the Holy Spirit is living in us to help guide us along in understanding it. So I would encourage you to keep reading it every day, but also know you don't have to fly through it just to fly through it. Take your time, especially if you're a new believer, to really ask God to help you understand small passages a little at a time. I would also encourage you to get a study Bible (the ESV study Bible) and have that to supplement your reading of the Bible you already have. It's a really helpful resource that's not online, so it's less distracting than a phone or iPad. I LOVE listening to podcasts, videos, and sermons by people on my phone, believe me, but I also have to remind myself constantly to get off my phone, shut off the music, and just pray. It's good to get off our phones and just be alone with God. I just think of the song Heart of Worship...when everything else is stripped away, and we simply come before God in prayer, THAT is the heart of worship. That's our one on one relationship with God. Hopefully this helps :)

Definitely love hearing that Jesus is the better Abraham, Issac, Jacob, David, etc. Too many preachers today narcigete (combination of narcissism and isogesis) Scripture and tell us that we are David and that the troubles in our lives are Goliath. Last I checked, if I sling five smooth stones at a woman that rejected a date with me, the best case scenario would be me spending time in jail. (I can basically quote Matt Chandler saying "You're not David!!" from his 2012 Code Orange Revival Sermon at Elevation.) By the way, your hand motions of left turns make me miss NASCAR racing at Chicagoland Speedway. (search "Slide Job" and you will see what I mean)

It’s amazing you can read the Bible or books in the Bible over and over again and always see something different stick out. Like in genesis his creation. I’m wowed by it. So we didn’t go to the moon ? Also we are not traveling or flying though space around the sun. Did you know that God stooped the sun and moon in Joshua 10? I didn’t till I reread it a couple of times then I got it. So amazing! Nope lol 😂 It’s sad how much the devil has gotten into the mind of us or even the kids. In fact we’ve been lied to from the start at school- re read genesis and his creation. It’s amazing! Good is good all the time! Your light shines so bright, keep up the good work of the word of the lord. God bless. God made two great lights, the sun and moon as a light to shine down upon earth. He also made the stars. This happened on the 4th day. Genesis 1:14-19 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies,as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal. Joshua 10:12-16 He set the earth on its foundations; its shall never be moved. Psalms 104:5 Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm. Psalms 93:1

Can you do a video about gender roles and what Genesis 1-3, specifically 3:14-19? I am struggling with these verses because childbirth is something only women can do, but farming is something both women and men can do, so it seems like God is saying women are not supposed to farm or are not designed for hard work. And if they are allowed to, it seems like the curse would affect women more than men. Please consider answering this question in a video. Thank you!

Are we supposed to be like god?... There's a ton of assumptions in that question. 1st one that we're all thinking of the same god. 2nd one that we all have the same idea of how we're supposed to act. I'd say absolutely not. And there's a mile long list of reasons. But when you all read that you jump to, if you're not like god then you're like the devil. Why put up so many blocks to communication? Just say the traits you want everyone to display. And then discuss that. We don't need to refer to a questionable aincent book to decide what is good.

I presume you know Bible Gateway's Verse of the Day for today's date (January 7, 2021) is Ephesians 5:1-2. Did you plan that or is it one of those interesting coincidences?

There is so much prejudice against the truth these days. Like their has always been. To be like God, you have to be hated by many because a sin (we've all done it) is like a virus and spreads and distorts the whole because the nations have been mixed up on purpose. God allows this, and we can certainly witness how conversation and debate is controlled and how perception is boxed into the concept of identity. We have to remember others cannot defile us. Only we can do that. We'/re not to judge others and it's probably best to stick to scripture. Because a lot of people hate the truth. As an example, with the election - what's the most important thing? And it's something the 'mainstream' have not asked. Which is: Is it true? Because they don't care. Love all

Can you explain to me what you mean by "election"?

Definitely give this podcast a listen - it's really good and just over 6 minutes long. :) simplyputpodcast.com/predestination/ I also have more resources in the description! You can also check out Shai Linne's songs "Election" and "Atonement Q&A," they are very helpful!

Hey. Can you (or whoever sees this) please pray for me? I'm feeling really desperate. I'm falling away from God for the 2nd time and it's happening really fast. I'm literally scared for myself. Please pray in tongues if you're able! Highly appreciate any prayers
