You can't call it as Constantinapole caus it is a not a Turkish word. Istanbul's first name was "Byzantine" in Roma Empire time. When it divided as West Roma Empire and East Roma Empire, Byzantine name upgraded to Constantinapole. After Turks came to Anatolia and got Constantinaople,it upgraded to Istanbul.And today,Istanbul still in Turkey's borders. You can't call it as Constantinaople cause it is a old name and it is not a Turkish name. You have to call it as Istanbul. You can't choose the name that you want to call it. It name is Istanbul since Turks got it.

Jermaine, Turkey has excellent local cuisine, great tea and coffee in every corner, and lots of vegan options in the local street food. Kind of feel sorry for you that you came during Ramadan, but even so, no real need to frequent Starbucks in there.

I'm from Cape town and just come back from visiting Istanbul. If I had known you could have used my SIM card that I bought there as well as my public transport card known as the Istanbulkart. It's an amazing City and I really enjoyed it. If you get a chance go and visit the main island of the prince's islands. It's a car free island where you can hire a bike for 20 Lira and explore. The ferry ride there is about 1hr 30 mins and costs around R30 for a return trip.

Istanbul is much more ancient with soul (excepting nowadays because it’s the holy month of ramadan..) than Dubai and it looks more Middle Eastern than the whole gulfs countries. The weather is cooler due to the humid subtropical climate which explains the beauty of the nature but at least it’s better for visiting the city. Enjoy Istanbul and discover the history behind the existence of this megatown !

Flying is hella expensive for most Turks, so this amazing bus system emerged there. The comfort you have on a long route bus can rival a plane. Honestly if I have the choice to pay 1/10 of the price for a bus ticket, instead of the plane, I'd go with the bus every time.

Dude, since 5-8 years, domestic flight tickets in Turkey became more affordable. When airline companies start competition with each other, they decreased their prices. Last minute tickets are generally expensive. But Turkish people love travelling with bus, as a nostalgia. 😉
