I think it’s a shame that you all are speaking about this interview and didn’t even take the time to listen to it. I thought it was pretty interesting myself. Charlemagne challenged her on some things that she has said in the past, and she clarified some misconceptions as well. She also clarified that she never sued her school, and told the story of what went down at her high school. The phrase “God is good” is said at every service in the predominantly white southern Baptist church that I went to for 15 years. I don’t know why it was used by The Breakfast Club to test her “blackness “. Maybe Candace didn’t grow up in church, or maybe she went to a church where that wasn’t said. She was born and raised in New York (state). Maybe that’s just not a thing that’s said where she comes from. I think it’s ridiculous anyway to test someone in order to see how “black” they are and base their worthiness to be in the community on their answers to those arbitrary questions. Candace is black and will always be black. She doesn’t have to toe the imaginary line of the black community in order to be black, and that’s the point that she made during the interview. She is smart and thinks for herself. I may not agree with everything she says, but she does speak her mind (even when her opinion is unpopular) which is probably why she no longer has a job with The Daily Wire. I think Candace will land on her feet and do just fine. I would like to see her on The View, but I doubt they would ever have a such a strong conservative black woman on the panel. I think it’s a shame that they are speaking about this interview and didn’t even take the time to listen to it. I thought it was pretty interesting myself. Charlemagne challenged her on some things that she has said in the past, and she clarified some misconceptions as well. She also clarified that she never sued her school, and told the story of what went down at her high school. The phrase “God is good” is said at every service in the predominantly white southern Baptist church that I went to for 15 years. I don’t know why it was used by The Breakfast Club to test her “blackness “. Maybe Candace didn’t grow up in church, or maybe she went to a church where that wasn’t said. She was born and raised in New York (state). Maybe that’s just not a thing that’s said where she comes from. I think it’s ridiculous anyway to test someone in order to see how “black” they are and base their worthiness to be in the community on their answers to those arbitrary questions. Candace is black and will always be black. She doesn’t have to toe the imaginary line of the black community in order to be black, and that’s the point that she made during the interview. She is smart and thinks for herself. I may not agree with everything she says, but she does speak her mind (even when her opinion is unpopular) which is probably why she no longer has a job with The Daily Wire. I think Candace will land in her feet and do just fine. I would like to see her on The View, but I doubt they would ever have a such a strong conservative black woman on the panel. I think she would run circles around those ladies.
