If it says tankoban, it’s quite possible that it was originally only available as an “extra” that came with a children’s magazine. My grandparents would always purchase them for me as a child, and it included stickers, cross words, games, cartoons etc. and very often an extra “gift” or “prize” that was very high quality. I got things like DIY tea set, a mini music box, a faux leather disney tote etc. EDIT: Oh I only just notice that you mentioned it in the video! 😅

@@Yingying-po9il from what I've seen from bookstores like kinokuniya, many japanese magazines have them, they don't specifically have to be children's. And they're not all toys, I've seen bags, lamps, lunchboxes and many other things too

Yep I love the idea that the bags essentially turn the slime into something totally different, a charm/fidget toy. But unfortunately they do deactivate after a while so you can't take them back out to play with as slime again.

What an absolutely adorable kit. I actually got so fed up with slime kits available here in Germany (and their expensive prices) that I eventually ordered Borax powder and PVA glue online and made my own. Those supplies weren't cheap either but they'll probably last me years unless I start a slime business.

I feel like out of all kits japanese kits are the best Reason : 1 quality. Most of the time the quality is great 2 how generous the makers are. They tend to give extra stuff than what you need so you can re-do it if you make a mistake 3 cuteness. All Japanese kits are super cute 4 how simple it is. Instructions are not difficult to follow and mostly simple

This is an old video but its worth noting that i have several of those segmented containers and they are def not airtight, they will completely dry out after a couple months if you leave it Its a good idea and very cute, just meter your expectation

So, as an American who’s always enjoyed Asian culture especially Japanese and Korean, I’ve recently started to see very stark differences in America and Asian culture as a whole. America has become this aggressive form of art/capitalism that is pushed on us by big companies. It’s LOUD, like it’s being yelled at us. And it feels like things we buy here are not good quality anymore. And if they are, it’s horridly expensive. This slime kit might not stand out as an indicator, but for me it really does. When you compare American slime products to this one, there’s just something so lovely, calming and soft about this one. I’m really disappointed by how things have turned out where I live. I don’t feel like I fit in here anymore as it does not reflect my heart. I’d love to move/visit Japan.❤

I am not quite sure about borax, but if I am remembering correctly it's not allowed to be used in kids toys anymore in Germany. At least that was the case when I started my training as a chemist a few years ago

Or you can buy glue then get an activator and make your own slime and just add a little bit of activator at a time so it’s not too hard
