Hopefully chapter 6 doesn't flop just like chapter 5 did, it just became so focused on collabs and fast changes to the point where it felt overwhelming, and things just felt rushed The only reason i would see chapter 6 floping is if they rush it out and do what they did with ch 5. (not to mention the first time they used OG was so they could soften the blow that chapter 5 would cause) Maybe they'll even try and re-sell old passes through this Now the question is if they'll do this for chapter 2, and 3 (possibly even chapter 4) but since chapter 3 (and onward sadly) are shortened chapters they would most likely have to make them last longer

Ugh. Why are you trying so hard to paint these people in a negative light? I like nostalgia, but it's far from just nostalgia to me and many others. Ch1 just had a simplicity to it. Better art style. Weapons, items and vehicles that were designed to be fun, not perfectly balanced. You are 100% right that OG didn't have everything that Ch1 had to offer. Not even close. If you haven't played Ch1 before, keep in mind that it will start very slow. Early Fortnite didn't have much. By seasons 7 through X, the loot pools and vehicles started to get really wild and fun. That said, the simplicity of the early seasons is something to be appreciated as well. Hopefully you enjoy! ❤

Everyone saying old battle passes are coming back and I’m here not actually sure whether they can or not. People are saying they can because it says they can only be sold during that season, but the other thing is that it specified what dates the season was during. So I’m not exactly sure and I don’t know how they would do bringing back passes like that, because 1, it’s only a month long for each season, not enough time for the average person to complete the battle pass, 2, the system is different now, would they just make it 80k xp per level? But what about unlockable styles then? How would you level them up? 3, how would people who owned the battle pass previously work? Would I just have the battle pass at level 80-something during season x like I got to og? Or would I have to buy the pass and then finish it? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Imagine if this is some sort of move to bring back their OG player base and add to their current player base. (OGs can have chapter 1, and current players can have chapter 6 and even fluctuate between the 2). Would be a crazy move, but the question would be, can they maintain said player bases? I can't help but be hopefully optimistic But the real question is WHY? If they are gonna use it to find out what the players want for seasons and chapters moving forward then beautiful. Seeing as all new "passes" can be completed using XP from any gamemode, i'm honestly not gonna be surprised if they bring back old or simply "remixed" battle passes and skins now. You can buy them and complete them all at once, as you gain XP and level up from anywhere. So example, you can play the chapter 7 battle pass and level up there while ALSO leveling up your chapter 3 OG battle pass.

I'm glad this is happening. I don't hate new fortnite but I generally prefer the old style of gameplay that og has. This also let's Epic experiment with new seasons more because if players don't like it, they have chapter 1. The new gamemode also provides a more consistent and static experience, so if someone comes back to the game after years they don't have to learn all the new and more complicated mechanics. I think is the logical evolution and what the most vocal part of the community is asking for, I think it will kill the BR in the long run as the main fortnite mode, and it will be fall in players in the months of less popular season. For me will be a great idea as I could play seasons I never did from 6 to X, but at least they change matchmaking I don't think I will enjoyed them too much.

As an OG, no matter how many points I make as too why I disagree with this opinion, people will always say Im just blinded by nostalgia. What made Chapter 1 so good was not only the amazing looking cartoony map, but in my opinion the absence of overpowered weapons such as mythics. I think when every season is just new bosses and mythics its not unique and becomes repetitive in its own way.

They only way they make this for me personally to actually care about it as I'm not much of a chapter 1 fan is if they brought back the battle passes from each season and if they replay all the live events that happened during the chapter just as they happened. Regardless of if you like it or not, this move seems like a desperate move by Epic. They so badly want their old players back, because they know they’re on the way out. It will be a while before it happens completely, but it’ll happen. By now everyone seems to be getting tired of everything that’s been popular for the past decade and moving on to other things. Everything from superhero movies, to TikTok, and now Fortnite. The game is on the downhill slide now, and so they have to try to milk this nostalgia wave until it’s bone dry. And this doesn’t seem like the move that Epic would do if they were confident in the direction the game is headed. And the thing about Fortnite that made it last this long, is the fact that once a season was over, most of the stuff was locked away forever. That forced them to keep evolving the game and moving forward, whether you like the battle pass exclusivity or not. That’s what gave us an interesting game is that they had to figure out new things.

this is Fortnite not a historical game. Poseidon isn’t actually a slurp monster in Greek mythology but nobody cares about the “representation” because that’s what woke is. Even in AC how are you going to rationalize the assassins order spreading to Japan unless you tie it in with the old legend of a black samurai from Africa. That is way more believable that an African brings the main conflict than just having a game that is about a completely different conflict.
